Wife Refuses Divorce Because Her Husband Is "Too Handsome"
When her husband demanded a divorce, she refused to accept it. Her reason? He was too handsome, and she couldn’t bear to lose him.
A woman named Li Xia from Henan, China, was seen crying by the roadside, explaining that her husband had beaten her and was now seeking a divorce.
Despite enduring an unhappy marriage for three years, Li Xia still didn’t want to part ways with her husband, even as others tried to persuade her. She even sought help from the media to mediate the situation, hoping her husband would change his mind. Her reason: "He’s too handsome. I can’t live without him," according to ETToday.
A Matchmaker Marriage
At 23, Li Xia was introduced by a matchmaker to Wang Qiang, a man with good looks and a gentle demeanor. After talking for a while, they developed feelings for each other and decided to get married after just two months.
Meeting a man who matched her ideal type in appearance, Li Xia was head over heels. To her, her husband was even more handsome than a movie star.
However, their whirlwind romance led to conflicts in their marriage. Initially, the arguments were verbal, but over time, they escalated to physical violence.
As the weaker party, Li Xia often bore the brunt of the violence. Whenever it happened, she would return to her parents’ home in tears. Her parents were heartbroken to see her suffer, but she still refused to divorce.
Her reason: Wang Qiang was her first love, and she couldn’t let go of someone so handsome. She believed that if they divorced, she would never find another husband as good-looking as him.
A Husband's Breaking Point
Wang Qiang was not inherently abusive. However, after years of living with his wife, he could no longer tolerate her extreme jealousy and irrational behavior. Their constant conflicts eventually turned violent.
Unable to endure it any longer, he filed for divorce.
The Jealous Wife
Throughout their three years of marriage, Li Xia was consumed by jealousy, frequently checking her husband’s phone for evidence of infidelity. She was convinced that his good looks attracted many women and that he was bound to cheat.
Her jealousy led her to accuse him of infidelity constantly, despite his assurances that he was loyal to her. She insisted on being by his side 24/7 to prevent him from interacting with anyone else.
Whenever Wang Qiang left the house, she would call him repeatedly, demanding to know where he was, what he was doing, and with whom. If he didn’t answer, she assumed he was cheating.
Even his everyday actions were suspect. For instance, as a factory worker, he would return home covered in dust. If he tried to shower immediately, she accused him of trying to "wash away evidence of cheating."
What finally pushed Wang Qiang to his limit was discovering that Li Xia had installed tracking software on his phone and hidden cameras in their home without his knowledge. Her actions drove him to the brink, and he decided to end their marriage for good.
A Change of Heart
When Wang Qiang took her to court, Li Xia suddenly revealed, "I’m pregnant, and I want my child to have a complete family."
Hearing this, Wang Qiang was stunned and took some time to reflect. After much thought, he decided not to proceed with the divorce, on the condition that Li Xia would learn to trust him, curb her jealousy, and foster a harmonious relationship.
He made it clear that if she couldn’t change, he would not reconsider divorce in the future.
Hearing her husband’s words, Li Xia softened. She happily agreed to meet his demands, promising to control her behavior so that their child could grow up in a happy family with both parents.
