2PM‘s Junho (also known as Lee Jun Ho) and Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA (also known as Lim Yoon A or Im Yoon Ah) have been going viral lately due to their chemistry.
Fans were delighted when it was announced the two idols would lead the romantic-comedy K-Drama King the Land, knowing they have been friends for over a decade. They have worked with each other on a few occasions, showing great chemistry, such as their iconic dance performance of Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes‘ “Señorita.”
Since JTBC‘s King the Land premiered, viewers have praised the “old-school K-Drama vibes” and the on-screen couple’s chemistry. Junho and YoonA’s chemistry has been so undeniable that it sparked dating rumors.
With their fiery chemistry, viewers have anticipated Junho and YoonA’s characters, Gu Won and Sa Rang, to take the next step in their relationship. Finally, last weekend, they had their first kiss in Episode 8. It exceeded our expectations too.
King the Land garnered praise for an important message of consent as Gu Won asked permission before kissing Sa Rang. Not only that, but it was one of the longest kiss scenes in K-Drama history (it’s about 2 minutes)!
Now, behind-the-scenes footage from the historic scene has been released. First, thank you, JTBC, for releasing a fixed shot from the kiss scene! Some fans think the newly released footage is even better than the aired scene.
Yet, it’s Junho and YoonA’s responses after the director yelled “Cut” that caught fans’ attention…
Ahead of filming, the actors rehearsed. So, they double-checked positions to ensure a comfortable kiss.
That rehearsal indeed paid off. By the time they started filming, they were so immersed that it appeared they could have continued if the director hadn’t called “Cut!”
Also, viewers noticed that rather than appear flustered, laugh in response, or even give a friendly hug like many actors do after a kiss scene, YoonA and Junho remained in their positions. Actually, they leaned closer, and he even grabbed her hand.
Yet, they have historically laughed during intimate scenes. Who can forget this other iconic scene from Episode 8?
Yet, Junho and YoonA maintained killer chemistry and professionalism while filming their anticipated kiss scene. Especially with the water, the actors were cold. Still, we viewers would have never known based on how “hot” the kiss was.
