You might be wondering where this year has gone, but whether you like it not it’s nearly time for Halloween.
While so many events have been put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, one company over in North Wales is launching the UK’s first ever drive-thru scare maze – and it’s totally covid-safe.

Here, punters will be treated (or tricked, should we say) to a live-action experience where they’ll drive through a series of scenes from some of the best horror movies and TV shows.
However, this one’s not for the faint-hearted, as at the same time actors and special effects will be serving up unexpected scares throughout.
Once your car enters the event, there’s no way out and you have to complete it in its entirety no matter how spooky things get.

To ensure safety, the scare maze is completely contactless, no one is to leave their vehicle during the 15-20 minute ride and all participants have to wear a mask.
In terms of the performers and staff, they’ll also be wearing masks on site, but as outlined by the event description, they have cleverly integrated face masks into the costumes in an effort to keep them safe while still being in character at all times.

No news on what movies and TV shows will be broadcasted throughout, but they did promise some ‘extremely gruesome’ scenes. As such, the recommended age is 16+ for the attraction, although any age can attend at the parents’ discretion.
Pictures offer up a snapshot of what you can expect, with one showing a couple of zombie-like performers scratching at the window of a terrified visitor.

It certainly looks like the ideal place to celebrate the spookiest season, especially given the year we’ve had.
So if this sounds like a bit of you, head to the Cyclone Events website where you can bag one or more of the £12.50 tickets when they go on sale on September 11.

While it’s not for the faint-hearted, the attraction is certainly not quite as threatening as the experience offered by professional haunted house actor Mr Kliewer.

His events are so damn scary, he’s made numerous people lose control of their bowels and bladders (372 was his official count back in 2012) and has even caused two people to have heart attacks.
Opening up on a Reddit AMA about his 15 years in the business of scaring people to death, he said: “The saw gets most of the scares, my size and costume get the rest.”
Fortunately for the cardiovascular health of the general population, Mr Kliewer was forced into semi-retirement a few years back after sustaining a badly sprained ankle while chasing some girls through a forest.
