Last year’s snowstorms were pretty huge. My girlfriend’s parents were stuck inside their village home without electricity for a few days until the plow came.
For me it was a snowstorm I went through when I was 7, we got over a foot and snow and made it extremely difficult to get to places until a snow plow came
I was like, 12, and I was sleeping over at my friends house. Her parents were at the store, so I was at her house with her, her brothers, and her sisters. There was a bunch of thunder and lightning and it was like right above us. I had never really experienced this bad of a storm, and I was having a horrible anxiety attack. I was literally crying, and after a bit, I learned that the storm was very close to my house. I was so freakin’ scared.
When I was about 6 y.o. I went with my mom and several other moms and kids to Caspian sea (around 1986). We had a guide – one of the locals, he drove us to the seashore in a truck and remained there with us through the whole time just in case (the truck matters, I promise). It was totally empty shore. Only us in tents, sand dunes and the sea. And the storm came. The waves were huge, not that we got to see much of them. The wind was terrifying, sand swirling in the air – so thick that we couldn’t see more than couple of meters away. We hid in our tents, holding the flaps, but the tents fluttered like they were ready to fly away (and one of the tents did). And all of this even though we had the truck shielding us from the wind. When the storm was over, just 1/3 of the big truck could be seen above the sand.
I was like 7 and lived in Michigan. One late night we got a tornado alert so we all huddled down into our basement. I also remember screaming at my dad to don’t go upstairs to get more blankets because I didn’t want him to be sucked up by the tornado (there never was a tornado and if there was it never came near us). So that was fun.
Last summer on a small boat. We were waiting at the dock for a spot to open so we could get off. Out of nowhere a hail storm started. We were being pounded by golf ball sized hail on the open water for about 5 minutes with only towels to hold over our heads.
