A copy of Louis Vuitton handbag that can viewed only through a microscope is going viral on social media. The handbag which is smaller than a grain of sea salt was recently unveiled by US artist collective MSCHF. As per MSCHF, This newest art piece will go on auction in Paris during the fashion week.
This microscopic handbag is a copy of Louis Vuitton’s OnTheGo collection. The neon green coloured bag comes with a microscope. On the microscope the first thing you notice is the Louis Vuitton logo on it. The size of this tiny handbag is into 657 x 222 x 700 micrometers.
While sharing the images on its official Instagram page, MSCHF describes it, “Smaller than a grain of sea salt and narrow enough to pass through the eye of a needle, this is a purse so small you’ll need a microscope to see it.”
It further said, “There are big handbags, normal handbags, and small handbags, but this is the final word in bag miniaturization. As a once-functional object like a handbag becomes smaller and smaller its object status becomes steadily more abstracted until it is purely a brand signifier.”
The bag was created with the help of biotechnology manufacturers by using a “stereolithographic process commonly used for making tiny mechanical biotech structures,” a statement by the company said as reported by New York Post.
