Selena Gomez made a shock move by publicly wishing her ex-BFF Francia Raisa a happy 35th birthday despite their vicious feud.
‘Happiest of birthdays to this special human beings. No matter where life takes us, I love you. ❤️ @franciaraisa,’ wrote the Disney Channel alum, 31, on Instagram Wednesday.
She included some of her favorite photos with Raisa, including one of the pair posing together at her star-studded 30th birthday party last July.
As of now, the Secret Life Of The American Teenager star does not follow Gomez on Instagram and hasn’t acknowledged the birthday tribute.
The pair have had a rocky friendship in the years since Raisa donated a life-saving kidney to Gomez in 2017.
Gomez needed a new kidney after suffering organ damage related to her lupus diagnosis.
She revealed she’s undergone the transplant in a 2017 Instagram post that included a photo of herself and Raisa in hospital to Instagram.
In the photo, the pair are seen holding hands as they recouped side-by-side in hospital beds.
To honor Raisa’s incredible sacrifice, they each got the surgery date tattooed.
A year after the transplant, Gomez was seen partying and consuming alcohol, which allegedly led to Raisa confronting her about her ‘unhealthy choices.’
They reconciled in late 2018 after Gomez suffered a mental breakdown and checked herself into a facility.
But tensions flared last year when Gomez told Rolling Stone that her ‘only friend in the industry’ is fellow pop diva Taylor Swift.
Raisa remarked: ‘Interesting,’ on Instagram and made her feelings clear by subsequently unfollowing Gomez.
When a TikTok account posted a video documenting the burgeoning drama, Gomez snidely took to the comment section to write: ‘Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.’
Adding fuel to the fire, Gomez also failed to mention Raisa as she spoke candidly about her mental and physical health in her Apple TV+ documentary My Mind And Me.
Gomez did show appreciation for Raisa as she candidly discussed the life-saving transplant while appearing on the streamer’s series Dear….
She revealed that the actress took it upon herself to get tested to see if she could be a kidney donor.
Gomez also recalled how ‘unbelievably overwhelming’ it was that Raisa didn’t even second-guess making the decision.
‘So within three days she went to go do it and she was a match, and it was one of those moments where I felt watched over,’ she said.
She said that she ‘will never, ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia.’
But another wedge was seemingly put between the pair the following month when a TikTok comment went viral of Gomez referring to Swift — not Raisa — as her ‘best friend.’
In May, Raisa appeared to shade her former BFF by avoiding all questions about her while out in LA.
Raisa was asked about the state of her relationship with the Rare Beauty founder and if they are on speaking terms but she refused to share any insight.
Raisa first met Gomez in 2007 when they were teenagers and they instantly developed a tight bond and attended a number of red carpet events together.
She attended Gomez’s 30th birthday bash last year but skipped out on her 31st birthday celebrations over the weekend.
Unlike Gomez, Raisa failed to pay tribute to her ex-BFF on social media.
Though it’s unclear whether or not a reconciliation is on the horizon, Raisa was in full celebration mode on Tuesday while partying in a tropical destination.
‘If I’m not in a bikini on my birthday then it’s not my birthday,’ captioned the star, who flaunted her svelte physique in a tiny orange two-piece.
She was also pictured modeling a large sunhat and a stylish crochet coord as she lounged on a couch.
On her Instagram Story she is seen hanging out in a cabana by the water and enjoying drinks with friends.
