Ahead of his solo concert, BTS Suga is making headlines with his big “flex” as he rented an additional indoor venue in consideration of fans and staff.
BTS Suga will hold the “Agust D TOUR ‘D-DAY’ THE FINAL” concert at KSPO DOME, Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul from Aug 4th to Aug 6th.
Heatwave warnings have been issued throughout the country, and the maximum temperature continues to rise to around 35 degrees Celsius.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, from Aug 4th to Aug 6th, when Suga’s concert will be held, the daytime temperature is expected to be 32~35 degrees Celsius.
As it is Suga’s solo concert, many fans are expected to wait in front of the concert hall despite the heatwave.
In addition, in the case of popular idols, “premium tickets” sales with extra money are also rampant. The ticket holders are allowed to enter after going through the process of checking whether they are the right people.
In the case of BTS, it is expected that fans’ waiting time will be longer since fans have to go through a more thorough identity examination process due to BTS’ popularity beyond Korea.
Usually, when a fan meeting or concert is held, a tent is set up in an extra space such as an outdoor vacant lot, and a simple booth is made to conduct identity verification.
It is tough in hot weather like these days. In fact, there were cases where fans fainted while waiting for the concert under the scorching sun.
Suga’s side decided to rent SK Olympic Handball Stadium, located right next to KSPO DOME, for fans and staff to use as an identity verification booth.
It seems to have been done for fans and staff who will suffer from the heatwave.
Netizens commented, “This is a true flex“, “I was worried about how to stand in hot weather. What a relief!“, “It’s a way to save not only fans but also staff“…
