The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has denied the Motion for Reconsideration filed by GMA Network and ABS-CBN in response to the 12-day suspension of Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime.
On Sept. 4, MTRCB issued its decision to suspend It’s Showtime for 12 airing days stating that the show has received multiple complaints in the past concerning an episode wherein the program’s hosts allegedly “acted in an indecent manner” during one of its segments, “Isip Bata”.
As indicated in MTRCB’s statement at the time, the respondents on behalf of It’s Showtime were allowed 15 days to appeal for reconsideration of the decision. The Kapamilya network stood its ground to counter the suspension, saying “there was no violation of pertinent law.”
Entertainment journalist MJ Felipe uploaded a photo of MTRCB’s latest official statement on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, September 28.
“The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) released a resolution dated 28 September 2023, denying the Motions for Reconsideration (MR) filed by GMA
Network, Inc. and ABS-CBN Corporation,” MTRCB stated.
It continued, “Hosts Ryan Bang, Vice Ganda, and Ion Perez allegedly acted indecently or inappropriately in the presence of children, which is alleged to have violated Section 3 (C) of Presidential Decree No. 1986 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.”
“In view of which, the Board’s Decision dated 17 August 2023 is affirmed,” the board noted.
