Kim Chiu has explained why she walked the red carpet solo at this year’s ABS-CBN Ball.
During her guesting on Magandang Buhay on Wednesday, October 4, the actress and It’s Showtime host said that her boyfriend, Xian Lim, was not able to join her in this year’s ball due to a prior commitment.
“Nasa Himalayas siya. Lumayas siya,” she laughed.
“Nasa India siya, kasama niya ‘yung mga friends niya nag-motor,” she said. “Tapos nung na-schedule na ‘yun, sabi niya, ‘Kailan ‘yung ball?’ Eh na-timing, sumakto. So parang sige, go lang. Ako na ‘to.”
Despite going solo this year, the Linlang star said that she had a blast during the star-studded ABS-CBN Ball.
“Sobrang saya nung gabing ‘yun. Everything went perfectly,” she said.
She also thanked her glam team and designer Francis Libiran for dressing her up to the ball.
“Siyempre, thank you sa glam team ko. Sila talaga… sila Jake Galvez [makeup artist], MJ Rone [hair stylist], Adrienne Concepcion [fashion stylist], and the Francis Libiran,” she said.
“Siya talaga ‘yung gumawa ng damit na ‘to na talagang itinodo niya rin naman. Nung una pinagdadalawang isipan ko pa kung kaya ko bang i-pull off ‘yan kasi dahil nga wala akong kasama. Kaya ‘yun,” she added.
Kim was named one of Metro.Style’s Best Dressed Ladies at the ABS-CBN Ball, alongside fellow Kapamilya leading ladies Kathryn Bernardo, Lovi Poe, and Belle Mariano.
Aside from Metro, the actress also made it to the Best Dressed attendees list of MEGA and Preview magazines, with MEGA praising her choice of attire for “[transforming] her into a radiant spectacle, a shimmering star that gleams from every conceivable angle.”
“It’s as if she’s adorned with the very constellations that light up the night sky, each gem and jewel adding to her celestial allure,” MEGA wrote.
Kim, 33, is set to star in the new ABS-CBN teleserye Linlang alongside Paulo Avelino and JM de Guzman.
