‘Persona: Sulli’ has confirmed its release for this November
According to the production company Mystic Story on October 26th, ‘Persona: Sulli’ consists of two parts: a short film titled ‘4: Clean Island’ and a feature-length documentary film ‘Dear Jinri.’ It will be available on Netflix for viewers worldwide on November 13.
‘4: Clean Island’ is a short drama film that starts with the story of a special pig at a strange immigration checkpoint, where ‘4,’ dreaming of immigrating to the cleanest place on Earth, Clean Island, must confess their sins to pass. The film features actress Choi Jinri (Sulli), Hwang Miyoung, and Park Gabi.
The script was written by Kim Jihye, known for works like the movie ‘Wish’ and the drama ‘Lost,’ and it was co-directed by director Hwang Soo-ah, who has worked on numerous music videos and the movie ‘Why Did You Come to My House?’
‘Dear Jinri’ is a documentary film that tells the story of Choi Jinri (Sulli) as an actress and artist and her thoughts and concerns during her 20s through interviews. Director Jung Yoon-suk, recognized for his work in various film festivals with movies such as ‘Non-Fiction Diary,’ ‘Bamseom Pirates Seoul Inferno,’ and ‘Eyebrows,’ directed this documentary.
Before its Netflix release, ‘4: Clean Island’ had a limited release at Laika Cinema in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, from September. ‘Dear Jinri’ was also invited to the Wide Angle Section’s Documentary Showcase at the 28th Busan International Film Festival and premiered as a world premiere.
