Kris Aquino reveals what happened during her reunion with former co-host and manager Boy Abunda during his visit to the US.
More than just being former co-hosts on a number of shows including the now defunct ABS-CBN morning lifestyle show Boy & Kris which ran from 2007 to 2009, Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino were also bonded as manager and talent as well as close colleagues in the entertainment industry.
But since flying to the US last year to receive treatment for her multiple autoimmune diseases, Kris revealed to her followers her recent reunion with Boy during his visit to the US as seen in her Instagram post on October 27. The Queen of All Media shared snapshots from their impromptu interview in her home in California .
Kris wrote, “ABANGAN! Seriously it was a heartwarming reunion. Boy freaked because I needed a shot while he was here. And he really hates needles. Nagkwento pa lang ako ng pinagdadaanan kong mga treatment at yung at least 18 pieces of vitamins, supplements, as well as medicine to help prevent my migraines and protect my liver because of my chemotherapy and of course my antihistamines… parang the whole 3 hours Boy was here he was stopping himself from crying pero bumigay din sya talaga.”
In her post, Kris also revealed Boy’s generosity in offering to manage not just her brand endorsements, but also that of her sons Bimby and Joshua.
“Boy never asked for anything pero sa laki ng utang na loob namin sa kanya, (the entire time he managed me for my endorsements as long as it was with my sons, his commission was only from my 50%, buong buo for my 2 yung talent fee- lugi nga ako kasi yung 32-35% na tax sagot ko, bilin yun ng mom) binigay ko ng buong buo yung medyo naputol ng ilang beses na footage,” she added.
Kris also made mention of GMA reporter Jessica Soho who is also currently in the US and requesting an interview with her. “And with my sincerest apology to @km_jessica_soho who is also in town, and had asked if it was possible to give her an interview- it was all impromptu using just my iPhone with @markleviste being our cameraman & bimb asking the questions,” she shared.
Although she announced their breakup earlier this year, Kris revealed that it was Batangas Vice-Governor Mark Leviste who ended up being their camera operator during her interview with Boy.
(Christmas is also his birthday),” she wrote.
In the comments section, Mark candidly revealed what Kris thought of his cameraman skills. He wrote, “DOP in the film and TV industries mean ‘Director of Photography’ aka Cinematographer or the person who operates the camera 😊👍 Hindi daw ako pwedeng pagalitan dahil hindi naman ako expert or professional, pero sabi ni madame may potential 😅.”
Before ending her post, Kris made sure to greet Boy in advance. The popular TV talk show host will be turning 67 on October 29.
Kris wrote, “Happy Birthday (Oct 29) to the keeper of all my secrets, the one who assured me that come what may he’ll be there for my sons, and the friend who until now fights my battles with me. To my other brother, I love you completely. #lovelovelove”
