Kathryn Bernardo movies you can binge-watch if you can't get enough of ‘A Very Good Girl’

Just when we thought we had already seen the best of Kathryn Bernardo, she astonishes us with her baddest and most daring role to date as Philomena Angeles in the dark comedy film “A Very Good Girl”.

And if you’re like us who can’t get over her stylish wardrobe and breakthrough acting in the said film, let us look anew at some of her movies that paved the way to where she is now as an actress.

‘Way Back Home’ (2011)

Kathryn starred in her first-ever lead role on the big screen in this 2011 family drama alongside her then fellow teen actress and still good friend Julia Montes. Here, we witness a very young Kathryn’s dramatic prowess when she played the role of Joanna, whose only wish is for her long-lost sister Jessica (Julia) to accept her, after their years of separation.

‘24/7 In Love’ (2012)

Still reeling from the success of her team-up with Daniel Padilla in “Growing Up” and “Princess and I”, Kathryn graced the big screen together with an ensemble cast in “24/7 In Love”. In the movie, Kathryn plays Jane, a die-hard fan of Daniel’s character Billy. The film gave us one of the cutest perspectives on fangirling and young love, along with a certified kilig and perfect ending.

This movie didn’t only give us peak kilig with its best friends-turned-lovers story, it also presented to us a lesson on embracing and accepting our true selves, just like how Kathryn’s character Patchot did.

‘She’s Dating the Gangster’ (2014)

Athena Dizon wouldn’t be the unforgettable Athena Dizon we love in this 2014 blockbuster hit if not for the remarkable portrayal of Kathryn. From that scene where she admits her true feelings for Kenji (Daniel Padilla), to that moment when she lets go of him to give way to his relationship with Athena Abigail (Sofia Andres), Kathryn really did a great job in making us weep our eyes out with her heartbreaking performance.

‘Crazy Beautiful You’ (2015)

Before Kathryn wowed us as the badass Philo in “A Very Good Girl”, she showed us her rebellious side as Jackie in the 2015 romance movie “Crazy Beautiful You”. While we truly enjoyed seeing a fierce side of Kathryn here, her transformation from being a cold-hearted daughter to a sympathetic one really made us root for her character.

‘Barcelona: A Love Untold’ (2016)

Kathryn gave us peak dramatic excellence when she played Mia in this 2016 romantic drama. We all felt her struggle as an OFW in Spain, her longing for acceptance from her father, and most especially her desire to be loved back by Ely who can’t get over his past love Celine.

‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ (2017)

We saw a more mature Kathryn when she played the classy Gab dela Cuesta in this 2017 Mae Cruz-Alviar film. But just like with her previous portrayals, Kathryn played her character with flying colors and made us irresistibly love Gab despite her impulsiveness.
