Diego Loyzaga, in an interview conducted by TV host and actress Toni Gonzaga, appeared to have surprised the host when he admitted he doesn’t believe in marriage.
The actor was the featured guest of Toni on the TV host’s online show, “Toni Talks,” which can be viewed on her YouTube channel.
Toni was asking Diego a series of questions, which included queries about his career and personal life when the topic veered toward marriage.
During the interview, the TV host and actress wondered whether what she heard about Diego not believing in marriage was true or not, so she asked for confirmation from Diego.
The actor immediately confirmed what Toni heard, adding that for him, marriage is only a “piece of paper.”
“I don’t believe in marriage. It’s a piece of paper for me,”
Diego told Toni, who appeared to be shocked by his answer.
Toni then asked him to explain why the actor maintained such a view.
“Kunyari lang, ha, you and me, we agree on everything. There’s not a spot or piece of line or paragraph that we don’t agree on,” the actor said.
“Ang sa akin lang kasi, is if ever we fight in the future and get to the point na ‘Ayoko na sa yo’, ikaw galit na galit ka na sa akin,” he continued.
“It’s not a big matter of having to go somewhere and get annulled, get divorced It’s because I guess growing up, I grew around it so much and I got to see it so much…separation,” he added.
“Aside from my own parents, even people around me, so why did you have to sign a piece of paper? What do you get in the end?” Diego asked by way of explanation.
Carlos Diego Loyzaga Manhilot, or simply Diego Loyzaga, was born on May 21, 1995. Diego is a well-known actor and model in the Philippines. He already starred in several movies such as “Maid in Malacañang” and “Mama’s Girl.” Diego is the son of Cesar Montano and Teresa Loyzaga. Barbie Imperial was among Diego’s former girlfriends from the showbiz industry.
In the same interview, Toni appeared to relate to what Diego was saying about those people who often were first to announce any news about what’s happening to a particular person rather than the person himself. According to Toni, some of those people are writers who appeared to know better than the persons involved. Diego shared that he underwent a similar experience when a writer announced first that the actor already had a child before Diego could even announce it. The actor then admitted that it could get annoying sometimes because he wanted to be the first to announce.
Diego also talked to Toni about his experiences as a father. He said that one of the things he wanted to make sure of was that he would always be there to support and guide his child. He also said he would make sure his child would never experience what he experienced before when he was still young.
