Jennie’s collaboration with Canadian star singer-songwriter The Weeknd and American actress-singer Lily Rose-Depp for HBO original series ‘The Idol’ OST ‘One Of The Girls’ debuted at No.100 on Billboard Hot 100 on December 30th.
Earlier, ‘One Of The Girls’ had stayed on the UK Official Singles Top 100 chart for five weeks, ranking No.62 for the week of December 22nd to 28th. Recently, it gained attention and climbed various charts, culminating in its debut on Hot 100.
Jennie has previously entered Hot 100 multiple times as a member of BLACKPINK. However, her special single ‘You & Me,’ released in October, fell just short of entering Hot 100, securing the 2nd position on Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100.
Jennie debuted as a solo artist in November 2018 with ‘Solo,’ but it did not make a significant impact on Billboard’s sub-charts at that time.
Other BLACKPINK members, Rosé and Lisa, have also entered Hot 100 as soloists. Rosé’s ‘On The Ground’ ranked No.70, while Lisa’s ‘LALISA’ and ‘Money’ secured No.84 and 90, respectively.
Jisoo’s ‘Flower,’ reached No.4 on Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100. BLACKPINK holds the highest rank for a K-pop girl group on ‘Hot 100’ with ‘Ice Cream’ at No.13, among other charting songs.
Jennie has been expanding her activities. She made her debut as an actress through ‘The Idol.’ Although BLACKPINK’s activities are carried out through YG Entertainment, Jennie recently established her own label, ‘Odd Atelier (ODD ATELIER · OA),’ for solo activities.
Next year, Jennie will also venture into variety shows, appearing in tvN’s crime mystery reality ‘Apartment 404’ alongside Yoo Jae-suk and Cha Tae-hyun.
