Kapamilya star Jennica Garcia recently revealed why she went back to acting again. In a sit-down interview with her mother, Jean Garcia, for Stars on Stars, the Dirty Linen star shared that her separation from her former husband made her go back to her showbiz career.
“Yung nahiwalay ako sa asawa ko talaga. Natatawa nalang ako ngayon [pero] hindi nga, doon ko lang narealize na [gusto ko mag artista],” she shared.
Jennica was previously married to actor Alwyn Uytingco before they decided to part ways in 2020. The Kapamilya actress shared that she only realized how much she loved acting when she separated with Alwyn.
“Pagbalik ko last year, doon ko nalaman na gusto ko na,” she shared.
The 34-year-old actress added that she fell in love with acting again because of a new found reason––her children.
“Before, the reason why I wanted to work was because I wanted to buy toys. Pero yung reason ko now is I have two kids,” she added.
Jean assured her that her reason is valid as she felt the same way during her younger years.
“Iba yung drive at tsaka yung maturity din. Nangyayari yun… Maski naman nung bata ako, parang wala yung budget ganyan di mo pinapansin kasi andami mong trabaho. So taken for granted mo siya pero once na natututo ka sa buhay, naexperience mo yung mga things na hindi maganda, mas nagkakaroon ng importansiya yung mga things na taken for granted,” Jean said.
In the same interview, Jennica admitted how it was easier for her to make a name for herself in the showbiz industry because of her mother.
“Oo naman. One of the things that I’m really grateful for. Iba kasi pag alam nila na anak ka ni Jean Garcia. Hindi na ganun kahirap para sayo kumpara sa mga ibang artista na mag aaudition talaga to get a role,” she said.
