This is Taylor Swift’ reaction after the host of Golden Globes Jo Koy’s joke about her love life

Taylor Swift left the Golden Globes EARLY after host Jo Koy’s joke about her love life… as the comedian defends his slight saying it was ‘cute’

Taylor Swift reportedly left the 81st Golden Globe Awards early after her concert film, The Eras Tour, was bested by Margot Robbie’s Barbie on Sunday evening.

Following the disappointing loss and enduring a ‘low blow’ crack at her love life during host Jo Koy’s opening monologue, eagle-eyed fans noticed the pop star, 34, seemed to make a premature exit out of the award show, held at The Beverly Hills Hilton.

While she gave the cast of Barbie a standing ovation for their win, social media users noticed her absence from the audience, not long after the defeat.

‘90% sure Taylor has left the event… she hasn’t been seen since Barbie,’ one viewer wrote on X, previously known as Twitter.

Another frantically asked: ‘TAYLOR LEFT?!??’

A third joked that she was probably thinking: ‘Well I didn’t win, this show is s**tty, there’s nothing nice to do here anymore and the host sucks, bye!!’

One Swiftie speculated that she most likely bounced early, with her pal Keleigh Sperry, to ‘go party and enjoy the social aspects around the award show… not because she lost or over a joke.’

Although it is unclear if Swift did actually slip out prematurely, she did not leave immediately after Koy poked fun at her relationship with Travis Kelce.

During the live broadcast, Koy received a death stare from the 12-time Grammy winner, who stated that ‘the big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL’ is they show ‘fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.’

In response, Swift pursed her lips and took a sip of her drink as the audience laughed.

After getting asked about the performer’s unamused reaction to his quip, Koy insisted he meant no malice by the joke.

‘Aww, man, it was cute. I was just saying it was cute,’ the stand-up comedian, 52, told ET of the joke. ‘I was just saying it’s less cutaways, that’s all.’

The reporter then suggested that maybe Swift was just ‘thirsty’ and ‘needed to drink the champagne’ at that exact moment.

‘Aww, man,’ Koy replied, before shaking the reporter’s hand and smiling.

Koy also clarified to Extra that his joke ‘was a compliment’ and his attempt to inform her ‘she could be more intimate tonight, that’s all.’

The joke sparked instant backlash from fans who wrote: ‘Cause of death for Jo Koy: That look Taylor Swift gave him as she sipped her drink.’

Another wrote: ‘Does the fool who’s hosting the Golden Globes and just made a joke about Taylor Swift realize millions of viewers had to Google who the hell is Jo Koy!???’

‘Agree. Uncomfortable laughter. And using Taylor Swift in a joke that stopped being funny months ago was a cheap shot.

‘that joke just didn’t make sense and wasn’t funny. why tf u bringing up the NFL only to talk about taylor swift’

Another supported Koy saying: ‘Can Taylor not take a joke? He wasn’t even putting her down it was a diss at the NFL for the way they cover her. It was funny & innocent.’

The loved-up couple have spent plenty of time together in Kansas City over the past few weeks, however.

Swift even celebrated the holidays and rung in the New Year with her lover after cheering him on at two Chiefs games.

Away from Arrowhead Stadium, they are also believed to have spent quality time with one another and their families over Christmas at the tight end’s new $6 million mansion.

With the festive period now over, the songstress jetted out of Kansas City on Tuesday as she continues to enjoy her downtime before her Eras Tour starts up again.

She and Kelce ended 2023 on a high as the Chiefs beat the Cincinnati Bengals 25-17 on New Year’s Eve with the Anti-Hero hitmaker taking up residence in an Arrowhead suite.

Later, they shared a passionate kiss as the clock struck midnight in Kansas City, with the loved-up couple celebrating the arrival of 2024 with a glitzy party surrounded by friends.
