“What does she have to claim to be on par with Rihanna?” – Inside Kylie Jenner’s rumored net worth after ‘self-made’ billionaire controversy
Kylie Jenner has become a household name through her reality TV show appearances and business ventures, with her often considered one of the richest celebrities.
Although once considered a billionaire by Forbes, the outlet has since re-evaluated her wealth. The latest figures feature on its ‘America’s Richest Self-Made Women’ list.
It came after Forbes was met with backlash after branding Kylie Jenner “self-made”.
“At 21, she’s set to be the youngest-ever self-made billionaire,” the cover read at the time.
But many people took umbrage with the term, claiming on social media that she been given a huge head-start thanks to her family’s fame and wealth.
According to the figures in the latest list (released in June), Kylie, 25, has an estimated net worth of $680million, placing her 38th on the list behind the likes of Taylor Swift and Rihanna.
With this in mind, we’ve taken a look at where she may have amassed her rumored fortune from – starting with her cosmetics brand which has proved popular among fans.

Kylie Cosmetics was founded in 2014 and was initially known for its lip kits, though it has since released other products including highlighters, lipsticks and palettes.
She previously said about the brand: “I created Kylie Cosmetics to give my fans access to the makeup products that I love and use every single day to create my looks.”
The reality TV star further commented about the industry: “I love that makeup can make you feel confident and beautiful and I want to share that feeling with you guys.”
She reportedly sold a majority 51 per cent share in the company in around 2019, which is said to have pocketed her up to $540m pretax, according to Forbes data.
Kylie – who is said to still have shares in the business – has since launched other brands like Kylie Skin, with her having said that “skincare and makeup go hand in hand”.
Products available through the skincare brand at the moment include lip oil and hyaluronic acid serum. Customers are also able to purchase products like face moisturizer.
She’s more recently launched Kylie Baby. The mother-of-two has said that the brand consists of “conscious and gentle pediatrician-tested skincare and haircare must-haves”.
The range available from the brand currently includes moisturizing lotion, conditioner and shampoo. Alongside such products by the brand are hooded bath towels.

She said on the Ellen DeGeneres Show: “Everybody gets paid pretty much equally cause we all film a lot and we all work hard. We’ve created this show and this brand for the last decade”.
Her youngest daughter Kylie has appeared in other shows over the years like spin-off Life of Kylie in 2017 and now appears with her family once again in Hulu’s The Kardashians.
Ahead of the show’s launch last year, insiders told Variety that the family’s deal for the new show was worth nine figures, suggesting they were paid $100m collectively.
