Linlang stars Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino, and Maricel Soriano shared some personal insights on what they would think if they were in the situation of their characters from the hit series.
During Linlang’s teleserye version media conference at the Dolphy Theater at ABS-CBN last January 15, Kim and Paulo got real when asked if they would still be friends with their exes, particularly if their partner cheated on them.
“It’s not very easy. I think immediately hindi pero minsan sa katagalan na rin ng panahon at siguro depende na rin kung paano kayo makipag-usap sa isa’t isa, yung pakikitungo niyo sa isa’t isa maayos, I think over time or eventually pwede,” Paulo shared.
Echoing Paulo’s sentiments, Kim also explained how time and acceptance may let a former couple remain as friends.
“Lahat naman ng sugat hindi naman siya agad-agad gumagaling so lahat ng panloloko hindi mo agad mapapatawad. So I think it involves time and acceptance,” the actress said.
The 33 year-old star also reflected on her character in the series and how couples who have a child should be considerate when it comes to handling separation.
“Para na rin siguro sa sitwasyon ni Juliana at Victor, may anak kasi sila so may consideration din na kasama. May time, acceptance, and be considerate sa anak niyo para hindi na rin siya ma trauma or ganoon. I-set aside muna yung hate. May oras na kailangan daanan yung proseso. Hindi naman din kasi siya in one click mapapatawad na kita, okay magbati na tayo para sa anak natin. May oras talaga, buwan, taon o a decade,” Kim explained.
In Linlang, Paulo played Victor Lualhati, a faithful husband who does everything to protect his family, while Kim played Juliana Lualhati, a woman who cheated on her husband while he’s away working as an overseas Filipino worker.
Fellow cast member Maricel Soriano also shared her thoughts when asked about how separation or misunderstanding in the family may affect a child.
“Kasi ang mga bata akala mo lang naglalaro sila diyan pero Dumbo ears yang mga yan. Alam nila yan kasi ako Dumbo ears din ako noon,” Maricel shared, reflecting her view as a mother.
She also added: “Napakasensitive nila kahit wala kang sinasabi, alam nila. Kasi magkukwento yan kapag medyo malaki-laki na.”
Maricel played the role of Amelia, Paulo and JM De Guzman’s characters’ mother in the series. Her character also became popular as she showed how a mom would do everything to protect her sons, even if it isn’t the right thing to do.
The actress then continued that she wants to be able to let her future child to understand what is going on around him/her.
“Hopefully, in the future, maipaliwanag ko ng maayos sa anak ko ano nangyayari sa paligid (niya) para hindi rin siya matrauma in a way or hindi iba yung pagkakaintindi niya sa nangyayari sa magulang niya,” the actress remarked.
Paulo, who has a son with actress LJ Reyes, shared how he first wanted to make things right for himself to avoid doing some negative things he saw growing up.
“You always try not to take negative things or the negative side na nakikita mo sa parents mo pero unconsciously while growing up parang nagagawa mo in a way. So what I really try doing is really focusing on myself and looking with it. Parang ang hirap mag-ayos ng iba kapag di mo pa naayos yung sarili mo or alam mong di ayos yung sarili ko,” the Kapamilya actor explained.
The Linlang teleserye version is set to air weeknights at 8:45 p.m. after FPJ’s Batang Quiapo on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, TV5, iWantTFC, and TFC.
The hit series previously streamed exclusively on Prime Video last October 2023 in over 240 countries and territories and was consistently the number one show on Prime Video Philippines.
