Linlang and Can’t Buy Me Love actress Kaila Estrada shared how happy her parents were as she received overwhelming praise and positive feedback for her acting performances in her recent projects.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Kaila’s parents, actress Janice de Belen and FPJ’s Batang Quiapo actor John Estrada, expressed their appreciation and happiness for their daughter’s success as she paves her own path in the industry.
Kaila revealed that both took pride in her achievements and recalled a moment when her father was at first concerned about seeing his daughter trending on social media.
“Yung dad ko naman nung nag-trend, nung una kinabahan siya,” Kaila recalled, as John felt a bit of anxiety, thinking that it might be something serious.
“Sabi niya, ‘Bakit ka nagte-trend sa Twitter?’ And then, noong nakita niya [na] it was because of Linlang, ayun, pinanood na din niya,” she added.
Her mom, Janice, also previously told ABS-CBN News how her daughter’s hard work is now paying off despite her getting nervous about accepting her role in the hit series Linlang.
“I know how hard she works and how nervous she was doing Linlang. She was so nervous na magagaling lahat ang makakasama niya. So now, her hard work is paying off,” Janice expressed.
She also stated how proud of a mom she is and grateful to everyone who supported and appreciated Kaila.
“I am very thankful to everyone for their appreciation and support for her. And of course, I am her number 1 fan,” she said.
Kaila shared in an interview with Teleradyo Serbisyo how she is also proud of being their child.
“Kasi anak naman po talaga ako ni Janice at John di ba? Hindi naman po yung mawawala and hindi ko rin po yun kinakahiya. I’m very grateful to be their daughter and I’m very proud of all their accomplishments. I don’t feel bad na kung yun yung tumatatak sa’kin sa mga tao,” the rising actress stated.
The young actress also expressed how happy she is that, despite being a daughter of known celebrities, people saw her as someone working hard on her craft.
“I’m just grateful that they see me for me, and they appreciate yung mga characters na ginagampanan ko and hindi lang yun ang tingin nila sa akin. Parang they see that there’s more,” she said.
Meanwhile, Kaila also felt overwhelmed by the praise and good comments she has received on her performances, especially in Linlang where she played Sylvia.
“Overwhelmed lang po talaga ako with gratitude and with happiness sa mga nangyayari ngayon. And I’m looking forward to more projects and more blessings pa for this year,” the 27-year-old actress remarked.
She also expressed her thoughts regarding on getting both positive and negative comments from people.
“Grateful po ako for both kasi kahit naman po yung negative comments or negative feedbacks, there is something to take away from that and something to learn. And I’m open to learning and I still have so much to improve on. I always say this whenever people ask me, I still have such a long way to go. So I welcome it and I keep it in mind din with my other projects and in the future, lagi ko siyang nasa isip. So I welcome it just as much as I welcome the good feedback,” she said smilingly.
She continued: “I’m just so grateful na nakikita ng mga tao yung pinaghirapan ko and naappreciate nila yun. For me that’s validating enough, fulfilling na yun for me.”
