Janno Gibbs marked the 40th day of his dad Ronaldo Valdez’s passing by looking back on one of their last filming moments together, which was for the younger actor’s movie “Itutumba Ka ng Tatay Ko.”
In the photo shared by Gibbs on his Instagram page on Thursday, Jan. 25, a worried Valdez holds his son, seemingly in an effort to prevent him from doing something.
“Shooting this emotional scene [with] my Tatay was hard enough. Watching it now is even tougher,” Gibbs said in the caption. “Your presence in the film is undeniable.”
“Today is the 40th day of his passing,” he added.
Fellow celebrities Vhong Navarro, Vina Morales, Jhong Hilario and Aga Muhlach were among those who sent love and prayers to Gibbs via the comments section.
“Itutumba Ka ng Tatay Ko,” Gibbs’ directorial debut, is the last film he did with Valdez. Aside from the father and son, the comedy film stars former child actress Xia Vigor.
Gibbs said in an earlier interview that he believes the movie—which premiered a month after Valdez’s death—was released on perfect timing.
“Is it too soon to release the movie after what happened? I believe this is the perfect time to do so. Because—sorry, I don’t want to cry—the last image people saw of my father wasn’t nice. So, hopefully, this [movie] erases that and allows people to see him again in all his glory,” the younger actor said.
Valdez, whose career spanned for decades, was found dead in his bedroom in the afternoon of Dec. 17.
