Disney+‘s She Hulk: Attorney At Law series has received a disappointing update from the series star Tatiana Maslany.
Tatiana Maslany, the actress playing She-Hulk, shared on a recent Twitch stream that Season 2 of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is not on the cards.
Appearing on a Codenames LIVE! – The New Class stream, Maslany was asked by the host, “Should we hope for a season 2?”
Maslany said, “I don’t think so.” She elaborated a bit, saying that financial considerations could be hindering its production. Maslany humorously said, “I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ’no thanks!’”
Maslany’s statement isn’t official, of course, but it sounds quite definitive. Season 2 of She-Hulk may never see the light of day due to budget concerns.
Even though She-Hulk was a smaller entry in the MCU, in the series, Jennifer Walters undergoes a transformation into her alter ego after being exposed to her cousin Bruce Banner’s (Hulk’s) blood.
A greater portion of the show’s runtime is devoted to her She-Hulk persona, potentially raising production costs significantly due to the extensive use of CGI.
According to reports, each episode of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law costs approximately $25 million, and the series consists of a total of nine episodes.
Therefore, the entire budget for the series amounted to $225 million, surpassing the budget of The Avengers, which was $220 million.
Disney and Marvel‘s bold gamble on She-Hulk seems to have backfired as the series has struggled to impress audiences and critics alike.
Given Disney’s current focus on cost-cutting, it makes sense that the character’s next appearance, along with Bruce Banner and Skaar, might occur in cinemas instead.
