This is not a drill: Adele has a fake Instagram AKA ‘finsta’

Adele has gone and revealed she’s got a ‘finsta’ – a fake Instagram, for the uninitiated – as well as a burner Twitter account to stalk us all undetected.

We’ll now allow you a few moments to try and track down the Easy On Me hitmaker’s account before returning to this page.

Alright, now you’re back (did you find it?), the star has dished on the fact she has alias accounts that aren’t official or with that branded blue tick in which she uses without the gaze of her millions of followers on her legit feeds.

Opening up in a juicy feature with Rolling Stone ahead of the release of her latest album 30, Adele revealed has an Instagram to ‘check out cat and interior-design content’ (#relatable), as well as a fake Twitter for checking on what’s come out about her.

While she stays far away from promotional activity online when she’s not releasing music, at all other times she’s a ‘full-blown millennial’ and lives for the scroll.

And, according to the superstar, is pretty good at it when it comes to finding out where stories about her are coming from.

She told the magazine: ‘I know how to trace something online, like no one’s business, back to the original source or leak, more than anyone on my team.’

Adele has 26.7million followers on Twitter, but only follows one account: @AdeleAccess, which is described as the ‘Official Page for all things Adele’; on Instagram she has 43.8million and, again, only follows @AdeleAccess.

Adele then references one fan, @keyon, who she goes to when rumours start to pile up, after they called BS on speculation the singer was releasing a duet with Beyonce, noting that the Rolling In The Deep star ‘famously doesn’t do features’.

She said: ‘He is so funny. I was like, “See, that’s a fan”. If anything’s blowing up on Twitter, I always go straight to that account because I know he’ll either be like, “Oh, this could be real,” or he’s like, “This is fake”.’

Let that be a lesson to you all – Adele is watching.

Her finsta may not be getting the kind of workout it has in the past, with Adele in full-blown promotional duties ahead of the release of 30 – which has already spawned number one single Easy On Me – with the upcoming telecast of her CBS special in the states, One Night Only, and ITV’s An Audience With Adele.

For the former, which will air in the US November 14, a trailer dropped earlier this week and shared a glimpse into what fans can expect (if you can get your eyes on a recording, that is).

The singer took to the stage at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, California for an intimate concert, treating them to new material. She sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a candid interview, and the new clip gives fans a taste of what they can expect.
