Taylor Swift’s latest album, “Midnights,” has stirred a fresh wave of speculation about the targets of her songs, and a TikTok user by the name Jessica McLane claiming to be a former classmate from Hendersonville High School in Tennessee has shared insights into the pop sensation’s high school years.

“In 2006, I’m a freshman in high school. Taylor is I think a junior. ‘Teardrops on my Guitar’ had just come out I think over the summer,” the tiktoker recalled

According to McLane, when Swift began gaining massive success in the music industry at the age of 16 or 17, a significant portion of their high school classmates “hated her.”McLane emphasizes that these weren’t random internet users but peers who had witnessed the songstress journey.

McLane admits that jealousy played a significant role in the negative sentiments, especially considering their proximity to Nashville, a hub for aspiring musicians.

The young people in the area were playing in local venues, not winning awards or gaining fame. Swift’s decision to pursue a music career and her subsequent success stirred resentment among her high school peers.

Most of Swift’s classmates hated her

In a follow-up video, McLane reinforces that her claims are based on her observations and experiences, standing by her assertion that Swift faced animosity due to her burgeoning success.

She admits she didn’t personally know Swift but emphasizes her connection to people in Taylor’s class. “The fact remains that there were not a lot of people in high school who had nice things to say about her,”McLane asserted.

The TikTok user also shares that Swift invited their entire senior class to the 2009 Country Music Association Awards (CMAs). Although the invite was unexpected, McLane acknowledges that the experience was exciting, even if the reason for the invitation remained unclear.

“Y’all, she invited us to the CMAs to say f*ck you. And we deserved it. So to Taylor: touché, that was a good one,” McLane admited.

Taylor plans three steps in advance

Swift’s intentional approach to her career and personal life, as noted by McLane, aligns with the singer’s reputation for using her music to express feelings about past relationships, friendships, and conflicts.

McLane also hints at Swift’s strategic planning, citing the release of “Midnights” on Kim Kardashian’s birthday as an example of her perceived pettiness.

While McLane’s revelations provide a glimpse into Swift’s high school years and the dynamics with her classmates, the singer herself has not commented on these specific claims.

Swift’s ability to channel her experiences into chart-topping songs has been a hallmark of her career, and “Midnights” continues to spark discussions among fans and critics alike.
