Atasha Muhlach not social-media savvy yet: “I was only given a phone at the age of 17.”

After just five months in the Philippine showbiz scene, Atasha Muhlach has carved out a spotlight of her own, stepping gradually out of the shadows cast by her celebrity parents, Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzalez-Muhlach.

Her charm effortlessly captivates netizens, and her antics on Eat Bulaga! often go viral on social-media platforms.

However, Atasha surprises the audience at the Go Negosyo’s Women Summit 2024 on March 9, 2024, by revealing that she isn’t that fluent yet in these virtual spaces.

“I’m still learning the ropes of social media because I was only given a phone at the age of 17,” she admits.

Recalling the days they were not allowed to have personal phones yet, Atasha describes:

“It was always the landline of the house growing up. It was very old-school living.

“We weren’t really given access to social media, that’s why I’m still learning the process of it.”

Despite the initial unfamiliarity, she recognizes its transformative power, especially during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Atasha marvels at how individuals have utilized social media to establish small businesses and create compelling content.

“In regard to this generation now, seeing what they’re capable of using the platform of social media for small businesses — like in the lockdown, so many people started opening up small businesses, identifying their own identities or individuality.

“Not only that, but they are able to express their desires and anything they’d like.”

Recognizing the power of the digital age in fostering positive changes, the 22-year-old business degree holder guarantees to put her platform to maximum use.

“Entering this industry, it’s something that I kinda put back for a few years. And now that I’m here, I don’t wanna close my doors to anything.

“I wanna make sure that I jump in full force, 100 per cent, give it my all, and see where it goes.

“My goal is just to enjoy this career,” she affirms.

In relation to women’s month, Atasha says that seeing women take strides in different industries is “really inspiring.”

She continues, “I hope that one day, I would love to lead the new generation of women just to do great things.”
