Fans are bummed out when this tender moment didn’t make it onto the screen in “Queen of Tears.”
Following the airing of episodes 5 and 6 of “Queen of Tears,” which received a positive response, tvN recently unveiled some behind-the-scenes cuts from the episodes.
Apart from the excitement of seeing Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won being close behind the scenes, fans also spotted a scene that was filmed but ultimately left out.
Specifically, it’s the scene where Hyun Woo (Kim Soo Hyun) asks to sleep together with Hae In (Kim Ji Won) after not sharing a bed for two years.
Viewers were expecting an intimate love scene, but instead, they acted like a new couple, all awkward and shy, simply sitting close and chatting. Then, Hae In falls asleep first, while Hyun Woo quietly watches his sleeping wife and gently holds her hand.
In reality, on set, Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won actually filmed a more intimate gesture: Hyun Woo’s back hug for Hae In as they both head towards the bed. Watching this deleted scene, viewers couldn’t help but feel let down and wonder why the director decided to cut it.
Many were also intrigued by the intimate back hug between the two, even though Hae In’s expression seemed… less than thrilled. Many viewers speculated that in this scene, Hyun Woo wanted more intimacy, but his wife didn’t agree.
Despite the letdown, some viewers think cutting this scene was justified. Since Hyun Woo – Hae In only recently reconciled, they’re still getting used to being around each other.
Hyun Woo, after sleeping alone for two years, only now awkwardly asks his wife to share a room, so having an intense intimate scene might have felt a bit rushed. Cutting this scene might also make the characters’ emotional development seem more natural.
