YouTuber Lee Jin-ho updated on the situation of T-ara Areum’s controversy.
On March 27th, a video titled “What’s wrong with her boyfriend?” was posted on the YouTube channel of reporter-turned-YouTuber Lee Jin-ho.
In this video, Lee Jin-ho said, “I received a piece of unexpected information. It was a tip-off that Areum and her boyfriend, Seo, were borrowing money from their Instagram follower. In response, Areum is refuting that she has been hacked.”
“Seo was revealed to be Areum’s new boyfriend in December last year. Since the disclosure, a lot of attention has been paid to who he is,” he added.
He also revealed, “On Instagram, Areum recently said, ‘Someone is scamming money using my name. It is true that I am hospitalized, but I have no financial problem. So I hope there will be no more damage made. I have observed and after confirming it, I reported it to the police. The person even scammed money from my family and my acquaintances using proof that was fabricated.’ After this post, there were unexpected comments made. There were also a comment saying that he actually sent 30 million won (to Areum).”
Lee Jin-ho also released a transcript of a phone call between Seo and one of Areum’s follower, who claimed that he received a DM from Seo, Areum’s boyfriend, asking him to lend Seo money.
In the recording, the person believed to be Seo said, “Areum is now hospitalized at XX hospital. Areum is pregnant. Not long ago, while pregnant, her ex-husband was exposed to have abused her children during her lawsuit against him. She must have been under too much stress. She was hospitalized, and was sent to the intensive care unit immediately and later was admitted to the maternity ward. In such a situation, she was also scammed, so the situation is so bad. She has to get surgery and pay for the hospital fee today, but I am a little short of money. I ask for your understanding and help financially, I will give it back to you next week, so you help us? The child is 11 weeks old, and we really want to save him.”
Lee Jin-ho said, “Seo said this directly on the phone, asking her follower to lend him money once or twice at the request of Areum. But there were some DMs that he said he didn’t send in person. He couldn’t confirm whether he was hacked or if it was from Areum, who knows his phone password.” When asked about the information, Seo said, “I am also a victim. As there are many untrue aspects, I plan to collect related data and submit it to the investigative agency. I have actually filed a complaint.”
