Revealing that she has been making cosmetic highlighter since January, Jeon Somi is finally introducing her own beauty brand in April. On March 27th, the female singer opened an official channel for her brand as the launching date is coming real soon.
As Jeon Somi is known for her glamorous beauty and kitsch charm, interest in the makeup products she will release is also higher. However, controversy arose as the price of the highlighter introduced by Jeon Somi’s brand was set at 42,000 won. Considering the highlighter’s simple package, many netizens complain that the price is too expensive.
On the other hand, some netizens say they want to try the product because it was created by a celebrity and promoted with Jeon Somi’s image.
This controversy is similar to the incident when Kang Min-kyung launched her shopping mall in the past. Back in 2020, Kang Min-kyung introduced a lifestyle & fashion brand. At that time, her shopping mall was highly anticipated but the price turned out to be too high, causing the female singer to face harsh criticism.
The brand set the prices at 260,000 won for pants and 270,000 for dresses. In addition, the price of hair accessories, such as tripe bands, received the worse reviews as they were known to be around 59,000 won. Despite the controversy, Kang Min-kyung is still doing well as a CEO.
