Andi Eigenmann talked about her late mother Jaclyn Jose in her vlog and turned emotional because of what she saw on the latter’s phone.
In an entry on her Happy Islanders YouTube channel, the former actress thanked her followers for their support and stated why it took her so long to post content. The last vlog entry was about her joining a surfing competition, uploaded on Feb. 28.
“I have been going through a difficult time in my life lately,” she said. “My Nanay, she passed away and things have not been easy.”
“But she has been the biggest Happy Islanders fan,” she added while holding back tears, “and the whole purpose of me creating a vlog was also because being away from my family, having Happy Islanders was the best way to keep her updated with my life here.”
Andi, wiping tears from her eyes, said Jaclyn loved watching her vlogs all the time.
“In fact, when I was able to check her phone, we saw, in her YouTube, the last video she watched was our last Happy Islanders video,” she said.
Andi assured her followers that while things haven’t been easy lately, she likes to focus on spending time with her family and focus on the good things.
“(I want to) make the most out of our time together,” she said, “because losing my Nanay in such an unexpected time is proof that you don’t know what tomorrow brings.”
Jaclyn died due to a myocardial infarction or heart attack on March 2.
Andi moved to Siargao in 2017 and has since been sharing how fun and fulfilling it’s been to live on the island with her partner Philmar Alipayo, with whom she shares two children named Lilo and Koa, on her vlog.
She also has a daughter named Ellie with Jake Ejercito. They are on a co-parenting setup.
