From coats to cosy knits! What Michelle Keegan will be wearing this autumn (and you can too!)

A new season has arrived, and with it, our excitement about autumn fashion.

Summer is great. Summer is gorgeous. But the clothes of autumn are where it’s at.

The new trends we’ve been waiting for, since we saw them on the runways back in February are finally available to buy and there’s a lot of goodness out there people.

Anyone in need of inspiration need look no further. Michelle Keegan’s latest collection for Very has just dropped and it’s stunning!

This girl knows what looks good, what women want to wear and then shows us how to rock it! And for autumn 2020 Michelle is treating us to some luxe leather, the cosiest knits and some seriously comfy loungewear.

We’ve picked out our favourite pieces from her fabulous new line below. Check them out and make like Michelle this season.

The ultimate coats

Ah, the winter coat. One of the most satisfying buys of the year.

We always need an upgrade when September rolls around. The thing about a winter coat is that we spend so much time in them (thanks UK weather) that they almost become part of our outfits. That’s why it’s worth investing in one you’ve fallen in love with so you don’t get bored too quickly.

Bold, bright colourful checks are a big trend this season and Michelle has translated this story into a super chic double breasted wool coat. It’s one of those timeless pieces you’ll be wearing for years to come.

Michelle Keegan Checked Double Breasted Coat (£80) and Michelle Keegan Tow Waist Teddy Coat (£75) at Very

Or if you’re a fan of the Teddy coat trend (and who isn’t?) then why not give it a feminine update with this beautiful blush pink design?

It’s ultra soft and while many similar styles can feel a bit boxy, this one comes with a matching belt, so you can create a bit more shape and a nipped in silhouette.

Michelle Keegan Coat Premium Longline Parka (£95) at Very

But for many, the parka is the only way to get through the cold and dark months of winter. And we can’t help but agree that every stylish girl should have one hanging in her wardrobe, ready to be taken out when the weather turns nasty.

The great thing about a parka is they’re not just practical, windproof, showerproof and warm, but they’ve got edge too. Whether you’re a Mod, a Britpop fan or just like the look, they’ve got swagger. And who doesn’t want swagger?

Michelle’s parka comes in black as well as this khaki green and we love the fluffy faux fur hood trim.

Mad fer it!

Luxurious leather

One of our favourite stories to come straight off the AW20 runways and into the real world is leather.

You couldn’t move at Fashion Week for models sashaying up and down in this seriously luxe material. Skirts, trousers, coats; leather came as smart separates as well as head-to-toe looks.

Michelle Keegan Elasticated Back PU Trousers (£35) and High Waist PU Pencil Skirt (£35) at Very

The thing about leather is it looks expensive. Mainly because it is… But it’s also got an element of tough girl cool as well and that makes it an irresistible option.

Michelle’s autumn collection has some fabulous faux leather pieces ideal for rocking this high end trend. Fake looks great and is not only much more purse-friendly than the real deal, but is obviously kinder to animals too!

We are crushing hard on these slim cut, slightly cropped pants. Won’t they look incredible with an oversized sweater and box fresh trainers?!

And this pencil skirt is super sleek and sexy. Play it down with a loose fitting tee and ankle boots or vamp it up in heels and a fitted top.

Michelle Keegan Faux Leather Jacket (£50) and Short Sleeve PU Tunic Dress (£45) at Very

If you’re yet to own a leather biker jacket then we can only encourage you to do so ASAP.

You won’t regret it. It will look great over pretty much everything you own, from jumpers and T-shirts to jeans and floaty dresses; you can’t go wrong.

Whatever you spend on a biker will be repaid to you in how many times you wear it. They’re also warmer than they look so why not make this the season you dive in with Michelle’s biker which features cool metal hardware and a roomy regular fit.

And how gorgeous does Ms Keegan look in this cute faux leather mini dress? It’s perfect for a date or night out with friends, but can be styled for day too. Simply wear with opaque black tights and some killer boots to take it to the office or out for brunch.

Fabulous dresses for fall

L-R: Michelle Keegan Midi Dress (£55) and Michelle Keegan Compact Knit Skater Mini Dress (£50) at Very

Autumn is a great time to rock a dress!

It’s not too cold so bare legs are still and option and you won’t need to layer too much on top.

We’ve fallen hard for this knitted midi on Michelle. It has a demure high neck and long sleeves but thanks to that form fitting cut, it’s got allure for days. And talking of sleeves, aren’t these particular sleeves incredible? Swoon.

Or show off those stems in her 60s inspired mini. LOVE the A-line skirt and those waist-cinching gold details. It would look fantastic with a pair of knee high boots this season.

Michelle Keegan High Neck Printed Mini Dress (£45) at Very

Or for fans of animal print, this dress is a must.

Those puffed sleeves are lovely and while it may be short, the neckline and long sleeves balance it out.

We told you this collection was a goody!

The cosiest (and cutest) knitwear

Michele Keegan Slouchy Fit Longline Knit Cardigan (£30) at Very

Maybe we’re strange, but we actually look forward to those first days when it’s chilly enough to need a jumper.

There’s something so comforting about knitwear, but of course that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Far from it!

In fact, with cropped cardigans, knitted bralets and tank tops all big this winter, knitwear has had a bit of a sassy makeover.

So start your season off right with Michelle’s ultra chic longline cardi. In classic camel it’s one of those items you’ll come back to time and again. And check out how great it looks with those faux leather trousers…

Now onto the jumper section of today’s briefing.

Wear them loose and slouchy and style them with slimmer cut bottoms. Take notes from Michelle and style this V-neck knit off the shoulder, while her white cable knit jumper is perfect with denim for off-duty days.

Michelle Keegan Wrap Cable Knitted Jumper (£28) and Off The Shoulder Knitted Jumper (£32) at Very

Michelle Keegan Ribbed Turtleneck Bodysuit (£16) at Very

Anyone on the look out for wardrobe basics that make styling and layering easy, should invest in this slim fit, ribbed Turtleneck bodysuit.

It looks gorgeous on its own but will also come in very handy later in the year layered under midi dresses, baggy shirts and jumpsuits.

It’s a real style saviour this autumn.

Looks for lounging around in

Michelle Keegan Hoodie (£28) and Joggers (£25) at Very

This year we’ve been in our house and in our comfy clothes more than usual…

But with shorter days and colder nights on the way, we’ll soon be glad of cosy nights in front of the fire once more, so why not bag yourself some new loungewear so you can really relax into it?

Michelle’s black joggers and matching hoodie (above) are just the thing. We love that the bottoms have a slightly slim leg, but that the top is still nice and oversized.

Michelle Keegan Hoodie (£XX) and Joggers (£25); Michelle Keegan Polo Neck (£25) and Wide Leg Trousers (£XX) at Very

The set also comes in a neutral shade of taupe so the problem is just deciding which to go for.

Or why not switch your loungewear vibe up a bit with this stretch knit polo neck top and wide leg trousers? There’s something so retro and cool about this whole look and we love the contrasting racing stripe down the sides.

In fact, this is loungewear so stylish, you’ll WANT to take it outside this season.

Accessorise for autumn…

We all know the power of a good accessory.

It can elevate a look from plain to perfect and at this time of year, the accessories are really good.

Treat yourself to some new arm candy like this grown up leather bucket bag by Joules. It’ll look so elegant slung across your chest.

And autumn is all about the boots! These black Chelsea boots are timeless and will work with everything from jeans to dresses and skirts to tailored trousers.

L-R: Joules Tia PU Bucket Bag (£60) and V by Very Fran Flat Chelsea Boots (£35) at Very

L-R: Mango Baker Boy Hat (£18) and Mango Checked Scarf (£25) at Very

It’s not quite bobble hat weather yet (thankfully) so until it is why not rock a cool girl baker boy hat instead? This one by Mango has got all the insouciant Parisian attitude you could need.

If you’re feeling the chill, however, then wrap this big checked scarf around your shoulders and you’ll soon warm up.
