The entertainment industry looks glamorous, but surviving in it is a completely different matter. In order to deliver their best performances while on stage, Kpop idols need to overcome their exhaustion and problems and pull things off to the very end. In fact, there have been many moments where Kpop idols immediately collapsed after a stage, or had to hold in their pain and perform.
BLACKPINK recently commenced their world tour “BORN PINK” with 2 concert nights in Seoul, Korea. It’s not easy to maintain the energy of a show that lasts hours, and BLACKPINK members had to use 100% of their energy to make it till the very end. In fact, a fancam showed Lisa collapsing the moment her performance finished.
To make it more impressive, no matter how exhausted or drained they feel, Kpop idols would wait until the light and sound go off before showing their weakness. In front of fans, they always try to be at their strongest.
BLACKPINK Lisa used a lot of her energy after the tiring choreography
This is not the first time fans notice Lisa’s exhaustion. Previously, while filming for a Chinese audition show, the BLACKPINK member had to film a one-take video for the theme song.
However, the moment the filming ended, Lisa couldn’t walk, as the tiring choreography consumed all of her energy. According to Lisa, she was so exhausted she also vomited.
With their intensely busy schedule and strong choreography, BTS also feel exhausted. Once, fans couldn’t help but feel pained as they witnessed Suga having to hold onto the wall to walk after finishing BTS performance at the 2017 MAMA. After another stage at the 2019 Seoul Music Awards, BTS members also breathed heavily and collapsed to the floor the moment the light went off.
At the Golden Disc Awards, BTS had to use oxygen masks behind the stage, surprising a visiting reporter, who said, “I have never seen idols like that. I often do interviews after a stage but I didn’t want to bother BTS, especially after witnessing them like that.”
In the case of TWICE Momo, the female idol once had to withstand her injury during a concert overseas. She’d then recalled his incident in a livestream in February 2022, revealing that she hit her head while behind the stage.
The hit was apparently so strong that Momo bit her own tongue and her eyes lost focus. She was afraid of a concussion, and yet decided to go on stage anyway and pulled off an excellent performance for “Scientist”.
