Megastar Sharon Cuneta recently revealed that she and her eldest daughter KC Concepcion are estranged. KC is Sharon’s daughter from her marriage with Gabby Concepcion.
Sharon Cuneta Reveals She and Daughter KC Concepcion Are Estranged
In an interview with the press after filing a cyber libel case against showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin, Sharon admitted that she and KC are already estranged.
“Pati mga anak ko tulad sina Frankie… My God, they’re kids. They’re just studying. Wala silang ginagawa. Ano man ang problema namin ng panganay ko because at this point, we’re estranged. And I’m very, very hurt,” she revealed.
The singer emphasized that she still loves her eldest daughter despite their personal problems.
“But there are things na… tama na ‘yun. Amin na lang. Kahit bali–baliktarin mo ang mundo, mahal mo pa rin ang anak mo. So tiis–tiis na lang muna. Dadating ang point na ayoko nang isiksik ang sarili ko sa anak ko,” the Megastar added.

KC Concepcion Greets Sharon Cuneta For Mother’s Day 2024
Despite all the drama between the two, KC took to Instagram to post a Mother’s Day greeting for Sharon, writing, “To my beautiful mama, it’s your day. I pray for us to enjoy life’s pleasures and adventures together soon.”
Posting a throwback picture from her childhood where the Megastar can be seen holding KC in her arms, KC continued: “You’re the first person I ever met, and ever loved, it’s because of you that I’m here today. Trust in the way you raised me- I will always strive to make you proud and feel that having me was worth it.”
“I love you. I wish I could give you the world so you wouldn’t have to worry about anything for another second. Happy Mother’s Day mama!”
Sharon Cuneta and KC Concepcion’s Strained Relationship
It’s no secret that Sharon and KC haven’t had the easiest relationship these past few years, with the Megastar admitting in March 2024 that she hasn’t seen her daughter since her Dear Heart concert in October 2023.
“Siguro, since she grew up, she became very independent. We can’t blame her, but don’t blame me either,” Sharon quipped in a roundtable interview with the press for one of her endorsements.
“Basta, I did my best as a mom and the other kids are still… with me, and if she has another opinion, then there’s really nothing I can do about it,” she revealed.
She added: “I don’t know what her beef with me was.”
“Siguro hindi maiiwasan there are hurt feelings now. So, to end that, siguro even if KC and I never have a relationship again, I know that we’ll always love each other. And she’s turning 39, so alam na niya ‘yung right from wrong.”
In September 2023, KC admitted that she unfollowed her stepfather, politician Kiko Pangilinan, and her stepsister, Frankie Pangilinan.
In a separate interview, KC explained that she just wanted “peace of mind.”
“Kapag showbiz po talaga, ‘no, parang lumalaki. Hindi naman po masama na magkaroon ng time na meron kayong inu-unfollow or ifa-follow. Mahirap lang po talaga kapag showbiz yung family, talagang lahat pinupuna,” she stated.
KC noted that no family is immune from disagreements. “Like I said, may mga complicated po talaga sa blended family. Hindi po kami perpekto and hindi po laging kailangang perfect. Wala naman po akong gustong ikwento pa apart from the fact na, ako I just want peace of mind, I want to be happy, I want my family to be happy,” she shared.
The couple arrived at the Makati City Hall this morning accompanied by their legal counsel Britanico Sarmiento and the Ringler Law Firm. Sharon and Kiko went to the office of Prosecutor Dindo G. Venturanza of the Makati Prosecutor’s Office to sign statements supporting their complaint.
“Inalagaan ko yung pangalan ko ng 46 years. Maganda ang palaki sa akin ng magulang ko. At higit sa lahat, sabi ng tatlong anak ko mabuti akong ina. So napakasakit sa akin. Nagpaka patong patong. So people picked that up and talked as if they live our lives when they see us and know what we’re going through.
“My children have suffered and ang sama ng loob nila. We’ve been off social media because of this. Ayoko ‘to eh, kung puwede lang. But it’s a message also, na artista kami, pero ang daming nakakalimot na nasasaktan din kami, di ba? Na hindi niyo rin naman kami kilala. Nakikita niyo lang kami on air. So okay lang yun. I’m very ano pag pinipintasan. That’s part of it,” shared a tearful Sharon talking to the press.
When asked about the documents they filed, the Megastar and her husband declined from sharing more details because of the now ongoing case.
In his interview with the press during the visit, Kiko stated that the reason he and Sharon came to the decision to formally file a case against the veteran reporter was because of the damaging material against his family released through vlogs on Cristy’s YouTube channel.
The former senator reiterated his right to defend his family against malicious news online and said such practice of releasing damaging news can be akin to criminal behavior especially when it is baseless or have no supporting evidence.
“Cybercrime law dahil malicious and imputation of defamation of our persons. Sabi nga natin, na yes, we are public figures, but we also have rights,” he said.
