MANILA — Kapamilya actress Kira Balinger and Kapuso actor Kelvin Miranda graced the premiere night of their movie “Chances Are, You and I” together with their director Catherine Camarillo.
The project has been waiting to be shown in cinemas since early last year.
Aside from waiting for the green light, the lead stars Kira and Kelvin got into a controversy. Kelvin broke up with his girlfriend and Kira was being accused as the third party.
During the movie’s series of promo events, Kelvin cleared the air and said Kira was never the reason for the breakup.
Kira, speaking to ABS-CBN News, said that they have remained professional despite the controversy that surrounded their big screen team-up.
Before its premiere here in Manila, “Chances Are” was shown in Tokyo, Japan as the opening film of the annual Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival. Camarillo was surprised by how the Japanese embraced the movie.
Celebrities graced the red carpet premiere including Star Magic Head Laurenti Dyogi, Jane De Leon, Kaila Estrada, JC Santos, Iza Calzado, Aya Fernandez, and more.
“Chances Are, You and I” hits more than 130 cinemas starting May 29.
