Actors Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won’s collaboration “Polaris” will be released on Disney+
On May 29th, Walt Disney Company Korea announced, “Disney+’s original series ‘Polaris’, which has been attracting attention even before filming due to its top-tier cast and production team, is set to be released in 2025.“
“Polaris” tells the story of spies who have lost their identity and are trying to find themselves again.
Jun Ji-hyun‘s character “Moon Ju” is a diplomat and Ambassador to the United States who has earned deep trust in the international community with her insightful judgments and actions. She discovers that there is a political maneuver involving both North and South Korea behind an assassination case. Kang Dong-won‘s character “San Ho” is a top-tier mercenary with a mysterious past and nationality. This role marks Kang Dong-won’s return to dramas after 20 years, his last being “Magic” in 2004. Additionally, Kang Dong-won will take on a new challenge as a producer for “Polaris”.
The series not only boasts a stellar cast but also a distinguished production team. The script is written by Jung Seo-kyung, known for her outstanding storytelling in works such as “Decision to Leave”, “The Handmaiden”, “Thirst”, “Believer”, “Little Women” and “Mother”. The series is directed by Kim Hee-won, who has shown delicate yet powerful direction in dramas like “The Crowned Clown”, “Little Women” and “Vincenzo”. Additionally, director Heo Myung-haeng of “The Roundup: Punishment” joins as a co-director.
Disney+’s original series “Polaris”, promising a perfect synergy between its cast and production team, will be available exclusively on Disney+ worldwide in 2025.
