A girl group who is about to make their debut is facing allegations of copying BABYMONSTER’s aesthetics and concept.
To prepare for their grand debut, various teaser videos of photos of BADVILLAIN have been released, raising the expectations of fans.
In particular, one video released in April showed the silhouettes of each member, prompting netizens to compare BADVILLAIN to BABYMONSTER – as the latter’s poster released in January 2023 has the same red color and silhouette concept.
As a result, various other similarities between BADVILLAIN and BABYMONSTER, leading to allegations of copying. These similarities range from the color scheme, the music used in teasers, and even the group logo.
However, many fans of BADVILLAIN argue against these allegations, stating that the black and red color scheme was used for artists under Big Planet Made a long time ago, such as in the case of VIVIZ.
Additionally, these fans refuted a comparison between the image teasers of BADVILLAIN and BABYMOSNTER, saying that there were no concepts to copy from and the clothes worn by the two groups are basic items.
