ABS-CBN executives Cory Vidanes and Carlo Katigbak graced the Thursday episode of “It’s Your Lucky Day,” and host Luis Manzano, with his trademark humor, took it as a chance to echo fan suggestions of extending the show’s airing.
“Binisita tayo nina Tita Cory Vidanes and Sir Carlo Katigbak,” Manzano said, while the camera focused on the network bosses. “Eto na nga—dinadalaw na kami Kapamilya!”
(Tita Cory and Sir Carlo visited us. As you can see, Kapamilya, the bosses already made their visit here!)
“Base sa suot ni Tita Cory, mukhang may dalang kontrata na. Sa bulsa naman ni Sir CLK, nando’n ‘yung ballpen pampirma!” he quipped, drawing cheers from the show hosts and the studio audience.
(Based on what Tita Cory is wearing, it appears that she is bringing a contract with her. Meanwhile, Sir CLK seems to have a pen in his pocket for the signing [of contract]!)
Fellow host Francine Diaz also extended her gratitude “in advance” to Vidanes and Katigbak, who were laughing and shaking their heads because of the hosts’ humorous remarks.
Manzano continued to tease the two, saying, “Pero mga boss natin ‘yan, syempre ‘wag natin lokohin; ‘wag nating i-pressure—Sir CLK, Tita Cory, ready na po kami!”
(But of course, they are our bosses. We should not tease or pressure them—Sir CLK, Tita Cory, we are ready!)
Manzano then took to his social media to ask fans on their preferred time slot if the game variety show would get “lucky” and be extended.
“It’s Your Lucky Day” has temporarily replaced “It’s Showtime,” which was suspended by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) for 12 airing days.
On the second day of the game variety show, Manzano earned praise for giving a chance to a hard-of-hearing person in the studio audience to dance and win a cash prize. Some netizens then suggested that “It’s Your Lucky Day” should be a regular show on the Kapamilya network.
