Actress Andrea Brillantes said she’s in a better place now after giving too much love to undeserving people—months after her reported breakup with basketball player Ricci Rivero.
On the Oct. 24 episode of ABS-CBN’s noontime show It’s Your Lucky Day, host Luis Manzano asked participants about a decision they once regretted, which is something they can laugh about already.
When it was Andrea’s turn to answer, she let out a joking “hmm” before saying, “Siguro ‘yung nagmahal ako nang sobra.”
Without naming anyone, Andrea noted she greatly loved people who did not deserve her love.
“I know,” she said as dramatic music played in the background while Luis and the audience had different reactions. “Di tayo sad today. ‘Yun lang, grabe po kasi ako magmahal.”
Luis then jokingly asked the Senior High star who she was talking about, only for her to smile at him
“Ngayon talaga, pag naiisip ko, grabe ‘yung mga binigay ko dati. Mga ginawa ko talaga dati,” she said.
Luis asked if she loves giving gifts, to which Andrea responded in the affirmative.
“Hindi lang po ‘yun. Sobrang maregalo, ta’s ako ‘yung tipong kahit galing taping, pagod na pagod na ako, ako pa rin ang magtitiklop ng damit,” she said. “Color coordinated ko pa lahat, naglilinis ako lahat, ganyan.”
Looking back, those efforts are already a laughing matter for Andrea.
“Ngayon napagtatawanan ko na siya na, ‘Uy, ba’t ko ba ginawa ‘yun sa taong yuck?’” she said, adding she’s in a better place now.
“‘Yung love na deserve na nabibigay ko sa kanila na hindi nila deserve,” she said, “ngayon nabibigay ko na sa sarili ko.”
Andrea and Ricci became official in April 2022. They confirmed their breakup in June this year.
Ricci, meanwhile, confirmed his relationship with beauty queen-turned-politician Leren Mae Bautista in a heartfelt Instagram post on Oct. 21.
Leren was accused of being a third party in the previous relationship, though Ricci stressed that his breakup with Andrea was due to mounting problems.
