Andrea Brillantes spoke candidly about the misconceptions people have about her that she says are not true at all, stressing that although she is not perfect, she is not a bad person.
In her interview with L’Officiel Philippines, which is posted on its Instagram page, the Kapamilya actress asserted that “she is not as bad as people paint her out to be.”
“Lahat, char! Ang dami,” she said, referring to the people’s assumptions about her that she said are not true. “Wait! Siguro, masiyado bang conceited to say na hindi masama ‘yung ugali ko.”
“I think I’m a good person. Parang pwede ko namang sabihin, ‘yun, ‘di ba? I think I am. I’m not perfect, but I’m not as bad as they paint me out to be,” she continued.
Brillantes underscored that her attitude depends on other people’s treatment of her.
Starting out as a child star, the 21-year-old actress has suffered from controversies over the years, most recently when her name got dragged as an alleged third party into the breakup of longtime couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
In her interview with Karen Davila in 2022, Brillantes discussed how people tend to assume the worst of her, whatever she does, making her admit that the hate probably would not go away.
“Kahit na anong gawin ko, wala talaga sa kakayanan ko na mabago yung pagingin ng mga tao,” she said at the time.
Brillantes rose to fame when she starred as Marga Mondragon in the melodrama “Kadenang Ginto.” She also led the 2023 mystery teen drama “Senior High,” and recently returned to the sequel of the show “High Street.”
