Actress Kim Ji-won has been excluded from the list of nominees for the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards
On April 8th, the Baeksang Arts Awards Secretariat opened the official website and announced the nominees for various categories.
The most eye-catching category in the TV section was the Best Actor category. The nominees for Best Actor include Kim Soo-hyun (tvN’s “Queen of Tears“), Namkoong Min (MBC’s “My Dearest”), Ryu Seung-ryong (Disney+’s “Moving”), Yoo Yeon-seok (TVING’s “A Bloody Lucky Day”) and Im Si-wan (Coupang Play’s “Boyhood”). The nominees for Best Actress include Ra Mi-ran (JTBC’s “The Good Bad Mother”), Ahn Eun-jin (MBC’s “My Dearest”), Uhm Jung-hwa (JTBC’s “Doctor Cha”), Honey Lee (MBC’s “Knight Flower”) and Lim Ji-yeon (Genie TV’s “Lies Hidden in My Garden”).
While Kim Soo-hyun, who plays the male lead in “Queen of Tears”, made it to the list of nominees, Kim Ji-won, who plays the female lead, was unfortunately excluded from the list of nominees, causing disappointment.
Kim Ji-won recently topped the list of drama actors’ popularity announced by the K-content online competitiveness analysis agency Good Data Corporation for 2 consecutive weeks, and in the third week of March, she ranked second.
In the category of Best Drama, “Queen of Tears” is also absent. The nominees for this category include JTBC’s “The Good Bad Mother”, Disney+’s “Moving”, SBS’s “Revenant”, MBC’s “My Dearest” and Netflix’s “Daily Dose of Sunshine”.
There are also no nominees from the cast or production team of “Queen of Tears” in the Supporting Actor/Actress, New Actor/Actress, Director, Writer or Art categories.
The “60th Baeksang Arts Awards” will be held at 5 PM on May 7th at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
