Bea Alonzo has set the record straight about her views on cheating partners. For her, it will always be the partner’s fault when he becomes unfaithful to his wife, and not the third party involved.
In a Fast Talk With Boy Abunda episode, the actress shared her thoughts on love and marriage. Speaking as an engaged woman to her beau Dominic Roque, or Dom as she would fondly call him, Bea was asked about hypothetical situations that might occur in their relationship.
One situation would be when her partner would be caught cheating. TV personality Boy Abunda asked if Bea would be the kind of wife who would be attacking the other woman involved. The actress directly answered, “Hindi, Tito Boy.”
Contrary to how most people would resolve the matter at hand, Bea strongly believes that it’s not the woman or the third party who should be chastised. Instead, it should be the cheating partner. She explained that it’s only reasonable that you demand apology and repentance from the person who committed the betrayal.
“Siguro si Dom ‘yung aawayin ko. Hindi talaga ako nang-aaway ever ng babae. Paulit-ulit sinasabi sa akin ng nanay ko, ever since bata ako: You can never seduce a happy husband. So if he’s happy, he can never be seduced,” the actress declared.
Bea further explained, “Ang panghahawakan mo kung may relasyon kayo ay ‘yung pangako niyo sa isa’t isa, ‘yung commitment niyo sa isa’t isa. So kanya ka magrereklamo, ‘dun sa taong binitawan ka ng pangako.”
The 36-year-old actress also did not dismiss the fact that relationships take work and sometimes painful. It’s just a matter of having the right person to fight for, she says. “Sa lahat naman ng pagkakataon masasaktan ka. But you really have to find a person worth fighting for. So, maybe I’ll fight for Dom,” Bea expressed.
In July 2023, Bea and Dominic happily announced their engagement. Bea also divulged that the two actually got engaged sometime earlier than their announcement. The lovely soon-to-be bride shared that they initially wanted to keep the happy news to themselves, however, some leaked photos kind of forced them to publicize it.
“We wanted to savor it na kami muna. ‘Yung kahit na one month na kami lang ang nakakaalam, na para may kinakikiligan kami na kami lang nakakaalam. But then, may nag-leak kasi na photos from the venue and so we had to announce right away. Parang unfair naman kung manggagaling sa ibang tao…” Bea narrated.
The couple has been slowly planning their wedding. During the Fast Talk segment, Bea claimed that they haven’t finalized the wedding’s venue, motif, or even the design of the cake. However, she shared that she’s more hands-on about the wedding, ane Dominic appears to be the nervous one.
With the actress soon tying the knot with her greatest love, she expressed her hopes for their relationship and said, “Sana ‘yung respeto namin sa isa’t isa hindi magbabago. Siyempre ‘yung pagmamahal, sana hindi mabago.”
