Billie Eilish is dropping her third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft on May 17.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, with her as the cover, Eilish also took time to talk about her latest offering, claiming she’s going to reinvent herself through it.

She also said she could be the spokesperson for sex and masturbation.

She also talked about her beef with Variety after coming out and said she overreacted. She also dabbled about her mental health after coming out, and said she never liked being a role model.

Billie Eilish New Album 2024

According to the artist, the latest album encapsulates who she really is, more than any of the past albums. “I feel like this album is me.” It’s not a persona. It’s similar to the movie Where Do We Go When We’re All Dead? a modified version of myself. It reminds me of my childhood and my former self.

Eilish revealed to Rolling Stone that she had officially decided to make some changes to the way she presents herself to the world with the aid of her upcoming album. “This album, to me, feels like a way to restart, in terms of my sharing,” she says.

According to her, she has zero interest in being a spokesperson for mental health. “I think it’s really weird when you are in the middle of something and somebody asks you to be the advocate for the thing you’re in the middle of,” she revealed.

She added, “I understand that it’s important, and I understand that it’s an epidemic and it needs to be talked about, but I don’t want to fucking be the role model for depression. What happens when I do some shit y’all aren’t going to like?”

Billie Eilish Don’t Want to be A Mental Health Advocate

Instead of being a poster child for mental health, she’d rather be known for her commitment to environmentalism. With her mother’s NGO, Support + Feed, she has partnered to promote sustainability and fight climate change while going on tour. Support + Feed works to boost food security by implementing a plant-based food system.

“I have never had an interest in being a role model, ever,” she says. “If you’re going to think I’m a role model, think I’m a role model in terms of trying to save the environment, and being more conscious of the way that you live, and your carbon footprint, and your contribution to animal agriculture,” she explained.

Just recently, Eilish went to her Instagram and released the tracklist for the newest album.

The tracklist was revealed after Eilish unexpectedly joined fellow musician Lana Del Rey onstage during Del Rey’s headline performance at Coachella. The crowd went berserk for the collaboration, and it was great to witness the two support one another live. The two played Lana Del Rey’s song “Video Games” and Eilish’s song “Ocean Eyes.”
