As expected, the new adaption is going to include the classic Christmas choreography… and it’s all influenced by BLACKPINK. Ahead of the film’s release, the movie’s choreographer Kyle Hanagami, spoke to the press about the movie.
In particular, K-Pop fans know Kyle as creating some of the most iconic dances in K-Pop, including BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love,” Red Velvet‘s “Ice Cream Cake,” and many more.
Kyle specifically pointed out the Christmas dance and explained that, like BLACKPINK, the scene had four girls in it. He then explained that most of the people watching the new movie would be the generation who grew up watching BLACKPINK since their debut in 2016.
Kyle added that this meant BLACKPINK was in his mind when choreographing the dance.
When I was choreographing the Christmas dance, I was like, ‘Let’s put a little bit of like inspiration from BLACKPINK in there.’ So, it’s definitely kind of inspired by some of the work I’ve done for other artists because it’s influenced the new generation of performers and actors.
