Celeste Cortesi joins Miss Universe Egypt’s selection panel

Celeste Cortesi’s reign may be over, but she is still making waves here and abroad.

The Miss Universe Egypt organization on Friday announced that the Filipino-Italian beauty queen is an official jury member of this year’s competition.

“The pride and the forever queen of the Philippines, the celestial beauty with unparalleled charm and grace @celeste_cortesi as our Official Miss Universe Egypt Selection Committee @missuniverse.egypt,” it wrote in the caption.

Other jury members include Egyptian actress Mai Omar, Smile Train Dubai country manager Afaf Meky, Smile Train Vice President, Community and Ambassador Development Troy Reinhart, Pearlant jewelry founder Hanan Elwani, philanthropist Sameera Shah, and Align Business Corp CEO Genevieve Yap.

Previously, Celeste also served as a judge in Miss Universe Thailand’s coronation night in August.

She represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2022 pageant, where she failed to advance to the top 16 of the competition.

On the other hand, this will be Egypt’s return to the international pageant stage after a three-year hiatus. The last delegate that they sent was Diana Hamed who represented the country at the pageant held in Atlanta, Georgia in 2019.

Dubai-based company Yugen Group acquired the franchise for Miss Universe Egypt this year.

The Miss Universe Egypt coronation night will be held later this year.
