Cherry Pie Picache says friendship with Edu Manzano remains

Cherry Pie Picache confirmed that she and Edu Manzano have indeed parted ways, but the actress stressed that the two of them have remained “good friends” and that they will “always love each other.”

After months of breakup rumors, Picache opened up about her relationship status with the actor-TV host during the mediacon for her upcoming film “Firefly” on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

“We’re very good friends; he’s a very good person, very good friend and you know, we will always love each other,” she spoke of Manzano, as reported by Bandera.

Picache opted not to disclose further details about the split, but she noted that they ended their relationship amicably and that it has been quite some time since it happened.

Despite her previous breakup experience, Picache underscored that she is not closing her doors on love. “Habang wala, edi masaya ka sa sarili mo… ‘yung self-love. [Hindi] mo na pwedeng iasa ‘yung kaligayahan mo or ‘yung kabuluhan mo bilang tao sa ibang tao.”

(While I’m single, then [I] should be happy by myself—self-love. [I] can no longer depend on others to value me or to make me happy.)

Picache further said that she is looking forward to having a merry Christmas despite being single, as she has learned not to rely on other people to be happy.

“Sa edad kong ito ngayon, I cannot depend my happiness anymore on somebody else. Besides, dapat din buo ako or whatever or kumpleto ako kung magmamamahal ako ulit,” she underscored.

(At this age, I cannot depend my happiness anymore on somebody else. Besides, I should be whole and complete if I would love again.)

Picache and Manzano, who already dated in their younger years, confirmed their rekindled romance in November 2021.

The former couple was then hounded by breakup speculations earlier this year after fans noticed that the pair had not been seen together, and were no longer sharing photos of each other on their social media pages.
