Chinese bloke quits his jobs to live under bridge for 10 years in bonkers bid to crack the ‘mathematical secret’ to winning the lottery

A WANNABE millionaire has quit his home and jobs to live under a bridge for TEN YEARS – vowing he will not leave until he has cracked how to win the lottery.

Wang Chengzhou believes living in total solitude will help him figure out the “secret” formula behind picking the winning numbers.

The 49-year-old has made his home under a road bridge in Chongqing, China, where he spends his days researching the maths.

He is so dedicated to his cause he has even given up his part time jobs at the post office and as a cleaner, according to media reports.

Wang had previously worked as a builder at a construction site in Xian, Shaanxi province, but suffered a thigh fracture.

After he recovered from the injury in 2008 he moved to his bizarre new home, reports the South China Morning Post.

The optimist’s 76-year-old mother said she had no idea where her son was until reporters contacted her.

She then begged him to return home for the Lunar New Year holiday next month, but Wang refused.

He told her he would not return until he had “made his mark in lottery research”.

“I have mastered the algorithms of lotteries,” Wang told the newspaper.

“I like thinking about lottery numbers in complete darkness in the morning from 2am to 5am.

“I spend about 2,000 yuan (£200) a month buying lottery tickets.”

He now plans to write books telling others how they can get lucky – even though he hasn’t won himself.

A post office official confirmed Wang had worked there for the past two years, but had recently quit.

“I know he is buying and researching about lotteries, but I never heard he won once,” he said.
