Chinese electric car manufacturer showcases luxury suspension system like rolls-royce, water glass doesn’t spill despite passing over speed bumps

On the launch day of the flagship model ET9, Nio did not forget to post a video revealing the advanced suspension system called SkyRide Fully Active Suspension that the large sedan uses.

On December 23, Nio, a Chinese electric vehicle brand, revealed its flagship large sedan called ET9.

The most impressive element of this model, according to what Nio has announced, is the chassis called SkyRide Intelligent Chassis System. This chassis integrates three elements: Steer-by-wire electronic steering system, Rear Wheel Steering rear axle steering technology and Fully Active Suspension system. The third element is the world’s first fully active suspension system.

On the Nio ET9, each shock absorber is independently controlled by its own hydraulic pump with accompanying hydraulic components for up and down movement of 50 mm. Thanks to that, the large sedan has a smoothness that cannot be compared to any other car on the market.

To prove it, Nio recorded a video of a vehicle equipped with a special suspension system carrying a set of cups filled with more than half of water. The car then continuously drove through speed bumps without the water in the glass spilling out and the glass tower did not move.

Only 4 people can experience the “luxury aircraft-like” comfort of the Nio ET9 because the default cabin only has 4 seats. The rear seat space is the widest with a 45-degree reclining seat with extremely wide legroom and a separate control system.

Some other notable equipment in the car cabin include 7 sunshades, folding table, 2 14.5-inch AMOLED touch screens, panoramic sunroof, refrigerator, and 8-inch tablet with adjustable features. ..

The Nio ET9 cockpit area has a 2-meter long central control cluster with a minimalist design. Right above and in the center of the dashboard is a 15.6-inch central touch screen, next to a rectangular steering wheel and HUD screen. The car also has a separate screen displaying a personal virtual assistant called NOMI. Nio ET9 is also the first car model in the world to use a 5nm system chip that provides outstanding processing capabilities.

Nio ET9 is located in the large sedan segment with a length of 5,325 mm, a width of 2,016 mm, a height of 1,620 mm and a wheelbase of 3,250 mm. The car’s exterior design has a clearly minimalist style to optimize aerodynamics.

The default Nio ET9 powertrain uses 2 electric motors. The rear motor has a capacity of 456 horsepower while the front motor has 241 horsepower completing the 2-wheel drive system. Total system capacity is 697 horsepower. More importantly, this is the first Chinese car model to use 900V charging technology.

Fast charging technology helps Nio ET9 run an additional 255 km with just 3 minutes of charging. In addition, like all other Nio models, users can easily change the car battery at the battery exchange stations they have built across China and are currently expanding to many other countries such as Germany.
