The critic who targeted Lee Hyo Ri, saying, “She only does food variety shows,” suddenly took down the post.
On June 12th, critic Kim Do Hoon posted on his social media, saying, “I feel sorry and pitiful for Lee Hyo Ri these days. I really don’t understand why she has been doing food variety shows with Kim Tae Ho for years.”
He added, “The more she does such shows, the stronger the feeling of her struggling like a has-been who desperately doesn’t want to be forgotten.”
He continued, “Isn’t Lee Hyo Ri an artist with enough capability and influence to gather young and interesting producers, songwriters and release contemporary albums?“
He also said, “If you’re a long-time fan, shouldn’t you be annoyed instead of saying ‘I’m glad I can see Lee Hyo Ri on variety shows’ when she continues to do nostalgic variety shows even though she has important things to do?“
He also added, “Even if she doesn’t regain the popularity of her heyday, she should take a cue from Madonna and J.Lo, who constantly update their music and release albums.”
Currently, Lee Hyo Ri is appearing on tvN’s variety show “Dancing Queens on the Road” directed by PD Kim Tae Ho. Over time, she has been appearing on “Hangout with Yoo”, “Seoul Check-in” and “Canada Check-in”.
While Lee Hyo Ri is frequently seen on variety shows, she has not released a solo album for six years since her 6th full album in July 2017. In 2019, for the fans, Fin.K.L reunited and released a surprise single.
The critic post spread through various online communities and was later turned into articles by the media. Due to the negative comment towards Lee Hyo Ri, fans also expressed their displeasure.
Although it was a personal social media post, Kim Do Hoon made it public so everyone could see it. However, after it was turned into an article, he explained, saying, “Why would you spread that and write an article? Ah, I’m going crazy. Really, I love Lee Hyo Ri so much, guys, it’s not a post I wrote because I dislike her.”
Along with this, he also deleted the previous post and said, “From now on, I will set all my posts to be viewable only by friends.“
