Daniel Padilla on reactions to his cursing moment during birthday performance: ‘Masyadong OA ang mga tao’

Daniel Padilla raised his eyebrows at people who “overreacted” to his viral video where he can be seen cursing while singing Rivermaya’s Hinahanap-Hanap Kita during his birthday celebration.

“Ang OA. Masyadong OA ang mga tao. Nage-enjoy lang akong kumanta, relax,” Daniel said in a new interview with entertainment journalist MJ Marfori.

The actor marked his 29th birthday with his nearest and dearest on April 28 in Tanauan, Batangas. During the festivities, he covered various songs with a band to entertain his guests.

As he sang the OPM group’s hit track, he tweaked the lyrics to add a curse word, singing, “Pati lupang pinagsamahan mukha yatang nilimot na ng puso mong biglang lumisan at pu******* may kapiling nang iba.” The video quickly made the rounds online afterwards.

The viral clip, which was posted by one of the attendees Ted Padilla Evangelista on Facebook, had fans wondering whether he was alluding to his former girlfriend of 11 years Kathryn Bernardo. The pair confirmed that they have parted ways in November last year.

“Kung ayaw mung makitang mahalin ng iba, ingatan mo. Simple as that,” a social media user wrote.

Another one, meanwhile, said they “felt his pain” in the video. “Maybe it’s genuine. Hope you move forward, bro. My Kath deserves the best.”

Daniel’s birthday was attended by his family members Karla Estrada, Rommel Padilla, and Senator Robin Padilla. Joining the festivities were married couple Zanjoe Marudo and Ria Atayde, as well as directors Cathy Garcia and Mae Cruz Alvar.

He had his birthday at J Castles, a new immersive amusement park where he serves as one of the co-owners.
