Daniel Padilla shared that his upcoming movie Nang Mapagod si Kamatayan where he will co-star with Zanjoe Marudo is already set to have its look test this November.
“Magsta-start na tayo ng look test. Dun pa lang kasi nga niluluto talaga ng maigi,” he shared in an interview with MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News.
The actor relayed that production of the film will start as soon as the screenplay is finalized.
“Gusto natin mag-offer ng maganda all the time, worth it all the time so ayun kailangan lang talaga latagin and plantsahin ‘yung kwento. Pero ito nandito na kami lahat malinaw na, excited na tayong tumakbo,” he remarked.
Daniel shared that both he and Zanjoe are already elated to start filming.
“Sobrang excited na kaming dalawa. Tuwing magkikita kami pinag-uusapan namin ang pelikula kung paano namin gagawin. And you know [si] Zanjoe napakahusay umarte nun. Ako pa ‘yung kinakabahan kung paano titimplahin,” he shared.
Nang Mapagod si Kamatayan will be the comeback film of Daniel. The comedy movie is based on a story by National Artist for Film and Broadcast Ricky Lee.
In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, Daniel shared that the film will tackle the mysteries of life, love, friendship, and death.
“Nandun ‘yung comedy pero di siya slapstick na pagpapatawa. Nakakatawa ang buhay. Dun siya. ‘Di siya slapstick.” he pointed out.
The film will be directed by Dan Villegas. The movie will be produced by Star Cinema.
In an interview with the media back in April 2023, Daniel highlighted that Zanjoe’s acting prowess was the main consideration on why the latter was chosen to join him in the film and not their real-life friendship.
“Matagal na kaming nangangarap ni Z na gumawa ng pelikula. Ang dami na naming naiisip na gawin pero nung binanggit ito sa akin at nalaman ko itong Nang Mapagod Si Kamatayan at inisip ko sino bang gusto ko makasama dito, alisin na natin yung pagkakaibigan namin dito, bilang aktor lang alam na natin si Z kung anong standard niya sa pag-arte, sa pagiging aktor niya,” he said.
He continued: “Kaya kesa isipin ko kao na dahil kaibigan ko siya o dahil magkasama kami, hindi, ‘yung kaledad nung ginagawa ni Z kaya tinanggap namin siya dito.”
