These are the kind of friends you want in your corner.
Everybody always says “if you need me just let me know.” But most people only have one or two people they know they can call for a favor at any hour and no matter what you ask, you know they’re going to come through. Those are the real ride-or-die friends.
Well one gas station clerk in Oklahoma called in a favor from his friends to try to get him out of work early, and they showed up. And all of them ended up going to jail.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, Isaias Jones was working at a convenience store when he reported that a man walked in and handed him a note that said, “Give me all your money or I will shoot you.”
Jones complied, and the suspect fled the scene.
But once officers began to investigate, they found out that there was more to the story.
It turns out Jones had texted his friend, Alyia Locke, and asked her to find somebody to rob the store because he was tired and wanted to go home early.
Well Locke came through, and asked her friend Steven Jones (no relation to the store clerk) to carry out the robbery.
Ultimately, all three ended up behind bars, with Locke being arrested on an outstanding warrant while also potentially facing embezzlement charges. Steven Jones, who committed the robbery, was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Embezzlement and Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon.
As for the store clerk, Isaias Jones was arrested and charged with Embezzlement and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
But hopefully he was able to rest up while he was in jail…
The Tulsa PD also issued a warning to anybody else trying to get out of work early:
“Our Human Resources department, and likely every H.R. department in the world would like to advise people that this is not the recommended way to leave work early.”
