(G)I-DLE Miyeon Makes Hilarious Response to Chinese Fan’s Request About Her Dating Life
On March 24, a 22-second clip of Miyeon went viral on the X platform due to the idol’s funny reaction when a fan pleaded with her to never date an “ugly” man.
In Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, a Chinese Neverland (fandom) uploaded her conversation with the idol during a fan call.
At the time, she brought a placard with the words, “Please don’t date an ugly man,” and after reading it out loud, Miyeon burst into laughter.
Without hesitation, she responded, saying:
“Okay! Don’t worry!”
With her broken Korean, the Chinese fan repeatedly says, “Please don’t do it,” and Miyeon also continued to shake her head to attest to the fan.

When this video was released on X, it immediately became a trending topic with over 1.1 million views, drawing laughter, especially from Korean and international Nevies.
Fans chuckled and felt relieved somehow about (G)I-DLE Miyeon’s dating life, although they felt concerned about the idol choosing someone who doesn’t have the beauty standard to be called “handsome.”
It wasn’t particularly clarified if the fan meant to say “ugly” physically or internally, but netizens assumed that the Chinese fan pertained to looks.
K-Netz React to Hilarious Interaction Between Miyeon & Chinese Neverland
Meanwhile, fans found it hilarious as they claim that it seemed to be a “shade” to other K-pop idols, who were previously embroiled in dating news.
At the start of the year, aespa Karina was confirmed to be dating Lee Jae Wook, followed by Ryu Jun Yeol’s alleged “transit love” to Han So Hee from Girl’s Day Hyeri, and just recently, TWICE Jihyo’s dating rumor with athlete Yun Sung Bin.
Although “beauty is subjective,” some complained about the aforementioned idols choosing guys that are “not” handsome, based on the Korean standard.
Thus, K-pop fans immediately turned the clip into an online meme and claimed that they would send it to their faves as well to warn them to choose wisely.
- “@ tagging all the women I love.”
- “I have to show this to all my girls.”
- “Women must watch this to prevent damage.”
- “I think Miyeon’s fans must have been relieved haha”
- “Ah, it’s funny how Chinese people say things like this without hesitation.”
- “It’s funny how Miyeon keeps saying ‘okay’ as if she knows…”
